2E0TPP My first ever contest. Very slow this time around but enjoyed myself greatly as a disabled operator. Plus it gave me the chance to teach my dad as a non-ham how to work a computer log; although he would not touch the computer he watched the whole thing from afar.
2U0GSY Very poor results this year. Maybe better next year!
4O1A Unfortunately We had a lot of problems with logging software we used. That’s the reason why we finished contest earlier.
5B4AFB Better than last year especially on 10 meters. Used SDI again - very good program. Why do stations call QRZ without giving their call?
5B4AGX Great contest from home this year. SDI certainly gets my vote for IOTA thanks.
5B4KH Only managed 8 hours of operation due to other engagements but still had a great time. It remains my favourite contest.
5W0TT We received a special club call with which to operate the IOTA contest and to use for the duration of our DXpedition. The IOTA contest was a great way to start off our two week DXpedition. Thanks for all the QSOs.
6K2ACS I am 19years old student. This contest was very impressive for my HAM life.
8S4S Felt very tough to work this year condx must have been kinda down. I almost thought I was running 5w so I gave up and only worked a few stns.
9A/OK6Y My first experience with operation from the island. So I made many mistake. Sorry for that. Look forward for IOTA 2007!
9A/S57YX First time operating from the island. Great experience. It was very nice and exciting. Next year again.
9A0R Great fun. Tnx.
9A5AND Had lots of fun working in the contest. Thanks everybody for working a small signal. FT-817 5W QRP, Random Wire.
9M2CCO/P The 2006 IOTA contest was the first IOTA contest that I have participated in after upgrading to a Class A license in May this year. Although not many contacts were made it was a great experience and I enjoyed it. I look forward to the 2007 IOTA contest and hope to make more contacts.
9M6XRO Pretty flat band condx and very slow at times. Missed out on a lot of EU Islands. I usually stick to CW in Contests but I had to go over to SSB to get some contacts hence it is a Mixed Mode entry this year!
AB2IO My first IOTA contest. Had fun SP.
AC5ZS Used SDI for the first time. Great
BY1QH Worked only the last 40 minutes of the contest for fun!
C4EU/P No CW operators available this year...but what the heck. A good time was had by all. SDI log performed well.
C6APR We operated from Pittstown Point Landing, Crooked Island, Bahamas. The owners were very hospitable and ham-friendly. A lot of QRN on 80m; little activity; 20m was the money band followed closely by 40m. Great 6m opening after the contest. We ran stations for 3 1/2 hours. Before the contest we worked a lot of 10m and 17m and some 6m.
CE2LS Very poor the propagation towards Chile.
CT1DHM Thanks to all! Great contest.
CT2IFT Tnx. Nice contest.
CT3EE Regarding the Madeira Team Contest QTH is in renewing process we decided not to participate as a team in the IOTA contest this year. However I could not let all contesters be without AF014 Multiplier. From the bad side of the island (facing south) with a small station at my QTH I could give the Multi at least to couple of hundred contesters. Tks for organizing the event and to all participants.
CU2JT Lots of other engagements prevented me from fully participating in this years RSGB IOTA contest. I did however make some people happy by providing a new multiplier as I believe I was the only station on from EU-003. I was also very happy to catch 5W0TT on 40m. That was a new country for me and his signal was really booming in here at around 7:30am.
CU8T Murphy was with us again: Due to high winds Friday before the contest we lost one spider beam and the other spider beam got damaged. We finally used dipoles on 10m/15m/20m for the running station.
DA0T/P Nice contest; vy good wx for swimming here on Helgoland Island!
DC1HPS/P Thanks to all for this very nice Contest. SDI-Log is ideal Log-Soft for this Contest!
DF1HE Thanks for the nice SDI Contest Software.
DF9TM Thanks for the contest, condx were vy poor see you next year.
DG1KTS Has been my first time in this contest. SDI is absolutely worth a try - I will use it again!
DJ1AA Thanks for the SDI Program. This program makes the contest easy to operate. This year I had only a Dipole antenna. The 6 element beam had a strong wind crash and the boom is broken. See you next year in IOTA 2007.
DJ3WE Very enjoyable Contest! Unfortunately I couldn’t spend as much time in it as I had planned/hoped.
DJ5FZ SDI is great. Poor condx, sorry but only a few IOTAs. Will take part next year also.
DJ6TK It was the first time to join the Contest from my new QTH in Flensburg without any DX Cluster in the moment. Great fun but it was too hot for contesting.
DJ7YT/P every year a nice contest. Hope to work you again next year
DK2AB Great contest as last year. It was fun to operate! I operated with the station of DL6JZ. Thank you Wolf. I hope to improve my score next year.
DL/PC2T Nice to hear some IOTA stations though not as much as the last 2 years. Still hoping the IOTA contacts I made during my summer holiday expeditions with my ../PC2T call would count for my IOTA award as PC2T and not using the entity rule of the DXCC.
DL1JB Cu agn next year!
DL2BQD Logged with SDI post ctest mode - fine logging! FUN!
DL2SWW Thanks for contest. This year not from island-side. We were working in the garden. Next we will go to island. 73 and cu in 2007.
DL5AUA/P QSO good for IOTA EU127 and German Island Award N 12; also valid for Lighthouse ARLHS FED 165 and GLHA 38. See you next year from the same island maybe with other antennas.
DL5AWI The condx was OK and many rare IOTAs on the bands. Lost a lot of time to work KH8SI ;-) . See all next year again!
DL7VRG Nice contest.
DL8MBS Even during the last hour 5 W wasn’t enough for some beleaguered islands like GI2BX/2 with a booming Es-Signal on 10m. Thanks for the contest with the 12-hours category.
DL9LBG Just a handful of QSOs on 21 and 14 MHz. Big fun to listen to pile-ups even on non-rare islands like Cyprus or Sicily. Sometimes a bit frustrating not to catch them – that’s QRP life.
DL9ZWG I enjoyed SDI program. It’s a very fine business.
DM4DX A great contest even if working it as a qrp station takes time and sometimes is frustrating (hi). All in all I had a nice time and some great operators that listened out to the qrp ones. Cu again next year.
DP4K Again had a lot of fun in the IOTA Contest 2006 and thanks to everyone for the QSOs ! We hope to meet you again in 2007 !
DS5AAQ/P Moved to Chilchon-Do for this contest. Very very hot but it was very Fun. See you again next year 73!
EA2RU Nice contest. I like it. I am using a SDI program. Very good.
EA4DUT Congratulation to winners. Great propagation on 10m.
EA4DXP First of all thanks to Paul EI5DI by SDI it’s a very useful program; not windows style but is possible run it in an old Toshiba portable PC. Unfortunately, due to an unexpected job problem I worked only 3 hours versus the 12 initially planned. I hope work the complete time next year.
EA5OL Not many time this year to be on anyway I like this contest and I made my qsos as every year.
EA8CQW Nice contest but not much time to participate. Nice program sdi very easy.
EA8NQ Propagation not good. 10 meter opened shortly Sunday morning. Best 73 and see you in next contest!
EA8ZS Special thanks to Manolo EA8ZS for inviting me to use his super station. Just got one night off from family holidays and was happy to compete in 12hour category. Unfortunately 10m and 15m did not really open during this stay. On 80m I had more than S9 QRN, sorry to everybody who might have called me. Nevertheless was great to have the opportunity to participate in IOTA contest from an island for the first time. Cu agn Wolf OE2VEL
ED1CI About 500-700 kg of stuff ready to activate for the first time the Cies Island from the very main lighthouse. A wonderful place, a paradise and of course the best place for a Contest.
EI/W5GN Operating from our vacation home on the west coast of County Clare with a Diamond CP-6 Ground Plane vertical on the edge of the bluff 70 feet over the Atlantic. But instead of driving a support stake to mount the vertical and its six radials with coils I found a metal base designed for patio umbrellas at the local hardware store in Miltown Malbay with perfect size pipe and that weighted 18 kg; it was more than sufficient even with 60 mph winds on Sunday to support the CP-6 and I made contacts on 80 thru 10 in the IOTA. I also had caught the 6 meter opening earlier in the week to central Europe so the CP-6 made Qs on all six bands!
EI4CF Caught by my Bishop for some duties this weekend so I was somewhat fitting the contest in when I could.
EI8FH First HF contest; SDI worked really well.
EJ/G3LZQ K2, Doublet 132ft c/f. All up and running inside 2-hrs Friday PM. All lost by 1500 hrs Saturday. Storm started and QRM went from S3 to end stop on K2 meter. Only usable band from 2200 was 80m strong UK only. By daylight Sunday what started as 12m Pole was reduced to 7m but 20m noise OK.
EJ2MT All was ready to go by the Friday evening. Even time to go to the pub for a few pints of the black stuff. But the next morning a force 10 gale was raging and at the top of the hill this was devastating. By 9:30am Saturday morning two of our three towers had been bent in two by the force of the wind. The top section of one of them had been catapulted out of the top and landed on the stairs to the Martello Tower we were in. The top of the other tower with its 40m beam and A3S was dangling with the top touching the ground. Overall 8 out of our 9 antennas were out of action. But thankfully nobody was hurt ! By 10am we had picked ourselves up from the shock and started to rebuild what we could with just 3 hours left to the start. The gale had subsided so we managed to lower the remains of one tower and replace the A3S with a spare though only at 60ft this time. The wire antennas were replaced and we were ready to go on the HF bands by the start of the contest. Conditions were surprisingly good on 20m and 15m but 10m was difficult. With the good take-off at our site we were able to work into the west coast USA on 20m well into the early morning.
ER5DX Tnx for fb contest.
ES0QD Bad antennas but normal score. 73! to all Contest friends!
ES4MM Thanks fer nice CONTEST!
EW2WW Nice TEST.
F/OO5S/P SDI : UFB LOGPROGRAMM
F/PA0MIR A very limited entry due to the big heat on my holiday place. Will be cycling here for a week in the French international cycling week so could not bring along much equipment. This operation only with FT100 and ATAS 100 vertical antenna. Maybe next year will be able to operate from island location would be much nicer.
F4CPF SDI ideal pour le contest
F4DLL This is my first participation at the RSGB IOTA Contest. I hope to meet you again in 2007 with a better score.
F5JY Propagation not too good but had fun anyway.
F5RAB Mostly on KH8SI, HI !
F5RD Hard contest with 50 W and dipole. I hope to do better next year hi !! Thanks to all who worked me. See you in 2007.
F5VIH Was SY8M last year. I tried the other side of the contest this year. Thanks to all stations for another nice IOTA event.
F6BKP/P EXCELLENT ! Very enjoyed to use it (SDI). An ideal prog for IOTA contest !
F6IFY Little participation, about six hours with my first try in SSB from my little home station. Not easy to break some island pile-up. Happy to give some points around. 73 and thanks for the organisation of this contest.
F6KOP Was the propagation so poor for the other ? rendezvous in 2007 instead.
F8KGS Nice contest - I hope QSO again on the next time. Best 73 to all from F8KGS Team.
F8PDR Strong qsb this year but many island on the air
FO/KM9D Station location Motu Tuitui, Raivavae Island OC-114. No amateurs are resident here. Motu Tuitui can only be reached by boat.
G0ADH First time at SD real time logging - Much improvement required on typing skills and speed. Will try again.
G0CER Local qrn S7 on 4mhz for first few hours didn’t help. Some Impatient big stations didn’t wait to confirm my reports for long enough. Enjoyed IOTA again though.
G0IBN sdi was a great help giving score automatically.
G0KXL Great contest wasted a load of time in the end working kh8si in the 20mt pile up but that was well worth it.
G0MRH 99 percent of the time was search and pounce. As usual most contacts were everyday Europe contacts. Why do so many not give an IOTA reference?
G0OPB I need more practice when several calls at once!
G0PSE SDI PERFORMED PERFECTLY
G0UKX Used SDI which was fine apart from refusing to enter EU-133 on 2 occasions
G0WAT ELECRAFT KX1 @ 2.5W, 35 FT Longwire at a death defying 1.5m above ground. Finished my KX1 so thought I would try it out n IOTA...amazed at the ears that can hear 2.5w to a ct of God long wire chest height thrown down the garden...CW roolz as any fule kno! u next year with a proper set-up
G1T Super contest! Our biggest station yet: DF4SA Spider Beam with 50ft mast, dipoles for 40 and 80m, FT920 with Linear Amps UK Ranger 811H linear running 400W.\
G2B We had a new location this year with great views of the sea and for 2 members of the group it was their first major contest. We struggled a little on Saturday but managed to get a frequency Sunday and the QSO rate flew up. Great weekend had by all...
G3GLL SDI worked fine- no problems\
G3HKO Surprising how difficult it was to work Gs which was my main aim.
G3LHJ Condx poorish for DX pleased 10/15M opened up on Sunday. My 75th Birthday on the Saturday so celebrations took over most of the day Hi.- but as always a most enjoyable contest and picked up a few new ones thanks to the guys going expeditioning - cu next year god willing\
G3PJT QRP is about waiting in the queue - patience is therefore a virtue
G3RSD USED SDI NO PROBLEMS
G3TXF Operated full 24-hours CW-only on four bands 80m to 15m with some occasional assistance from DX-Cluster. Worked six all-time new CW-IOTAs. Thanks to all the IOTA DXpeditioners who are the key to the success of the IOTA Contest!
G3TXZ I wish some people would use their ears and not their SCP. I am NOT G3TXF! (I’m sure you’re glad of that Nigel!!). The lack of sunspots didn’t make the weather any cooler. Propagation generally rather poor. Short skip on 20m useful.\
G3VYE Limited time; poor aerials; lots of QRM QRN = low score so I will be near the bottom of the list. But not to worry it was good fun. Thanks to all involved. At least SDI worked perfectly-it really is a great logger - thanks Paul.
G3VYI Condx seemed poor and few Islands to work at good sigs. Hard work with 5 w and old Rx ! But good fun
G3XZO/P Saturday weather on Lundy was atrocious. Had to hang onto breakfast sailing back. SDI brilliant as ever
G4AIU Computer crashed after the first QSO. Thoroughly enjoyed the contest - eventually
G4AXX Operated from Dave G3UEGs station this year, conditions started poor but improved as the contest went on. The high point was being called by ZL4DH on 40m at 0509z on Sunday morning. The wx was kind cooling down to a tolerable temperature on Sunday.\
G4BJM Good fun; used Cluster a few times. Other commitments meant no serious entry.
G4DBW Elecraft K2 5 watts output, MFJ multiband vertical. Lots of EU IOTA activity little heard outside EU at this QTH
G4DDL Conditions seemed down but seemed to work plenty. QSB and QRN made things difficult
G4EKT/P An enjoyable weekend - Hope to do better next time. Two operators using SDI for the first time. SDI didn’t make any errors – can’t say the operators didn’t! More thought has to be put into which direction the rhombic should fire.
G4ERW Operating times restricted but enjoyed the contest!
G4FAL Logging software homebrew. Went to a wedding in the middle of the contest so only able to complete 12 hours. Didn’t have many qsos outside Europe but an island is an island and isn’t worth any less for not being dx.
G4FOX/P Wx fine band condx fairly good very short on good operators. SD works fine as usual was going to use voice keyer this time but soundcard went down on the day
G4FVK I enjoyed the contest but I would have liked to have worked more dx qsos. I was pleased to work one new iota which was NA 062.
G4PIQ/P Token entry from home grabbing a few minutes here and there.
G6CSY Shame 10/15m didn’t fully open up. Some deliberate jamming of G stations on 40m was heard. NA/SA activity on 20m way down. Swains Island causing 50kHz+ of QRM
G6M Lost loads of time getting the log to work.
G6PZ Station worked well with no problems. This is always a slog for us with our lowly EU 005 status but still very enjoyable all the same.
G6UBM sdi worked well as a simple logging program
G7N Good contest yet again with seriously hot weather during the setup for a change! Thanks for all the QSOs, see you next year
G8D As initially GU6D, GU7D and finally staying with GU8D we have been to Sark for 4 years then Guernsey for the last 6 so after 10 years we decided not to do the trip this year. It has really been great. I hope we may have helped to re-generate activity on the island and in the process made a number of friends. I feel honoured about that and would like to thank them all for their contributions and hospitality. From the early days QSLs have been handled by John G3LZQ who has funded and dealt with all incoming and outgoing cards. Thank you John. This time we operated from my QTH in fact in the new summerhouse! Just three ops G4DRS G4IIY and myself. Not looking for a high position but would like to maintain our top ten placing achieved over the 10 years. Great fun but hard work. Hosting a station is no easy option, particularly during a heatwave. My deep appreciation has to go to my wife Yvonne who after months of working 70 hour weeks began a two week break on Friday and supported us with buying last minutes bits and pieces plus shopping and preparing meals. Highlights : being called by EJ/G3LZQ for obvious reasons and also MikeVP8NO on 40m CW. Mike and I go back a long way to our early days in Nottingham Radio Club so it was particularly good to have our first QSO for many years. Sixpak enabled Mult station to use any of the antennas Run station wasn’t using. It worked like a dream. SP got the QSO on first call and we had many Big Sig reports on Run which considering it was 2nd league setup was very pleasing to us all. Only one minor RFI problem on a Sixpak control cable cured by a couple of clip on ferrites. N1MM (apart from mults see later) is really a smooth program to use. Once the wireless network was up and running it worked without a blip. We had two laptops in the summerhouse\ one in my main shack as Wireless Access Point and DX Cluster via Telnet and even Yvonne’s desktop in her study area. We could keep a check on our progress wherever we were! Just didn’t manage to get the third laptop up and running so no Run/same mode multing on 2nd rx. Enter Sends Message really makes running a pileup so easy and relaxed. Lowlights for me: I hate using mouse in a contest anyway but late planning meant that we hadn’t realised we could only use keyboard or mouse not both. I opted for keyboard since I don’t like laptop keyboards but found the lack of a real mouse really annoying. Progress eh? Perhaps the overall worst thing was N1MM Mult handling. Having used K8CCs NA logger and then Writelog over the 10 years we were used to good mult indication. Our passing of mults was severely limited this time. I do hope the N1MM team will look at this aspect. Finally an observation on operating from UK mainland. Found a distinct disadvantage in not using the GU callsign. Rates were lower and I am sure many hunters didn’t call because they already had EU5. Mainland UK stations only worth 3 and not 15 points so we didn’t bother with inter G at its peak times - and finally ! CW contesting is much easier than SSB so we often took that path!!\
G8ZRE SDI easy to use. First time in IOTA contest hope everything is OK
GM0B Our first IOTA DXpedition to Bute. Thanks to all who worked us\
GM0OGN SDI worked very well
GM2T Enjoyed the contest once again. Plenty of laughs before and after it due to the Island of Tiree people. Contest wise found things difficult at times as we felt the bands were not up to their usual standard. WX was very mixed but it stayed dry to allow us to set up and dismantle the station. As a group we must improve our CW as it has let us down this year as we don’t have any real CW operators and what we worked was very difficult. Wish that CW stations would slow down to about 25WPM to give everyone a good chance not everyone is capable of reading CW at 30WPM plus. Overall a great contest but think it is time to tweak the contest rules so as to make it better for the IOTA chasers.\
GM2Z Great fun!
GM3CFS Very poor conditions 10/15 on Saturday improved Sunday
GM3PPG/P Enjoyed contest and trip North again despite disaster 9 hours into contest when genny failed - hence entered 12hr section but no 80m operation. Will be back next year with new secret weapon ant. for 20m. Tnx. to all organisers and adjudicators. and to all the callers
GM4FAM Great to do another IOTA after 5 years. Less island activity
GM4SID Always enjoy IOTA. 50 more QSOs than last year but 19 less multipliers so reduced score. Used the IATA.LST produced by EI5DI for use with SDI and its use gained me a few mults.
GM7V Great fun as always - poor propagation on Saturday afternoon affected our overall score. We had a software glitch which meant that some of the serial numbers we sent on SSB *might* be 1 higher than they should be - we think they are almost all correct - sorry about this !73 Chris GM3WOJ
GW0TKX Always use this contest log (SDI) it’s great
GW3NJW All these sections and not one that suits me, tsk! How about an 8hr 23 minute section, is that too much to ask?
GW8K We had a great time; having 3 DL friends as part of the team made it multi-national. A true spirit of ham friendship was strong right through the weekend. Had a great party on the Monday night. We worked hard played after it was all over as Above all Contesting is fun. On the radio front we had a great opening into USA on 20 metres during the early hours band wide open to GW made lots of points from US islands. Great contest learned a lot had great fun many thanks RSGB. de Glyn GW0ANA team leader.
HA5BWW The SD is a PROGRAM! Thanks.
HA5LZ Many thanks for a super contest!
HA6IAM Tnx fer nice contest
HB9BTI The first time working in the contest. I have much fun on this contest, band conditions very nice also on 10 and 15
I2AZ In this IOTA Contest 2006 I found not very good conditions here in north of Italy. Unfortunately short skip permitted to work many European island stations but very few of other continents.
I2WIJ Another crazy home operation! Just few hours to make some noise on the bands.
IC8OZM Great fun, lot of troubles!! Police, night storm, pc crashes, mosquitoes...Mr. Murphy? Are you there?
IC8WIC Big decrease of qso number this year due to last minute job commitments. Conditions were very poor and static from nearby storms very high with QRN sometimes S9+ A lot of fun as usual. See you next year
IG9/IZ7FLQ No good conditions of propagation in south Europe
IK1BBC I had a good time this year and I enjoyed IOTA very much. Easy and reliable the software SD which I use all the time .To the next year and 73 to everybody
IK2IKW Many stations on air compliments first time (SDI) - very good and simple to use
IK2RLS Happy and happy to submit my small log! Fantastic SDI used!
IK6CAC/7 We enjoyed the contest this year too, despite the problems we had with the weather and the network.
IK7YTT Can work just few hours and no antenna on 40/80mt, lost a lot of multipliers. Fine propagation on 15mt. Unfortunately Sunday morning 20mt are busy for kh8si from 14190 to 14450 so other qso lost.
IM0/I0PNM Although I wasn’t able to work very much on 20 mt band because the trap of my vertical failed during the operations (hi..!) I really enjoyed participating. I will try to organize a new DXpedition for the 2007 contest from another small EU island\
IN3PEE I am very glad my participation in IOTA contest with QRP station. IOTA contest very nice.
IN3VVK It is a very good Contest. Special thanks to the organizers man.
IS0XDA My first time for Island on the air contest. I have operated with a dipole for the 7 MHz. The days were many warmth and the temperatures in station exceeded the 30 degrees and assiduous participation has not invited to one.
IT9RZU Very strong qrm in all bands!! Nice contest!
IV3DYS This is my first IOTA Contest. for my is nice test!!
IW1QN Very Funny Contest. It's the first time that I participate at IOTA Contest.
IW3IKX First experience for me in this beautiful contest. Few points but a lot of fun! Hope next year to have more time for the contest.
IW3SSA Bad WX conditions in my area. Very amusing contest!
IW5EIJ My first iota test... I’ll be back next year for sure!
IW7EFC Very good contest !! TNX TO ALL\
IZ0EHL Tnx for very fun test. Not many time to work but iota test is a usual summer meeting with many friends and more score for my iota record.
IZ8EDL Little time sorry
J48NAR Good weather not so nice conditions great software. nice contest and great ham radio activity\
JA1BPA The propagation was generally good on 20 but 15 and 10 were practically useless. Very hard contest for a low power so I switched to 12 hour category and concentrated on finding island stations.
JA1FWY It was bad conditions. See you again next year. Thank you.
JA2KVB The contest was under bad solar condition so I couldn’t work many contacts. Anyway thanks for nice contest.
JA6SRB Not so good Condx. Well not good location!
JA7ZP Thank you for your help. I was enjoyable with DXpedition KH8SI., hi
JI1ALP I was able to enjoy it though I was operation for a short time.
JJ1WWL/1 I enjoyed the contest.
K0LDS First time for IOTA – I’ll be better prepared next year. Thanks for sponsoring the contest!
K1EO First log submission enjoyed the JA run Sunday morning. Used SDI for first time great program works very well
K1RY First experience using the SDI contest software. It worked great as long as I punched in the right data. Can’t beat the price--free.
K3EST Lot of fun!
K3ZT Lots of Fun!
K4VAC Our amateur radio club “The Dominion DX Group” under the club callsign of K4VAC had a wonderful time at the Bay View Inn Bed Breakfast on Tangier Island run by Kathy Russell Crockett during the 2006 IOTA contest on July 29th and 30th. Our Multi-Multi DXpetition contest team consisted of KC4AUF Tony, KS4RX Becky, W4THU Jim ( XYL Jean), K4CNF Guy ( XYL Gloria), N4KFT Parke, W4BNO Robert, K4AUR Mike, WD4LBR Bruce, K4WNW Sheila, K4PUA Jim ( XYL Tiffany) N4DWK Dave. We used two 40ft military towers to hang our wire antennas. Our main antenna for our Kenwood TS-2000 run station was a Radio Works 80m Carolina Windom. We also used a Radio Works 20m Big Signal Loop for getting into Europe and going over the pole into Japan. We started with another Kenwood TS-2000 for our multiplier station and switched to a Kenwood TS-570 connected to a Hustler multi-band vertical which worked very well setting in a saltwater marsh. The contest started off very well with high hopes of big scores and hours and hours of running pile-ups worldwide. Then the bottom fell out when a solar storm occurred dramatically reducing propagation. These are conditions that separate good contesters from the faint at heart. Calling CQ Contest for hours on end under these poor conditions takes dedication and the desire to win. Our team members pursued endlessly in keeping the radio waves saturated with the sound of our call from Tangier Island. Sunday the 30th proved to be better conditions as we started the morning picking up many multipliers on 40m CW to the amazement of our run station’s ops who watched our score jump by quantum leaps every time a new multiplier went into the log. Aside from propagation everything else went extremely smooth as a well-oiled DXpedition Contest Team. I’m very proud of every one of our team members who took part in this contest and especially of guest op W4THU Jim Thompson and his wife Jean of Radio Works who supplied our wire antennas and helped me operate the CW station.
K6CSL A very small score for a very small station. I run 100 Watts to Multiband Delta Loop that is radially mounted from 30 centimetre long TV stand-offs\ on the back wall of my mobile home located in an antenna restricted mobile home park in Riverbank CA USA. This proves to be quite a challenge.
K6CYS Had to use back up radio. Very limited time. Lots of city noise due to hot weather. Tried SDI logging program and liked it very much.
K7ACZ All in all a very nice contest. Only wish I could work more IOTA Stations. Where were all the JAs? Only worked one ASIA IOTA and he was a Russian RZ. Only other ASIA heard was 9V1YC on AS-019 but he cud not hear me answering him. Also only six OC IOTA stations in the log. Did JA DU HS HL KH0 KH2 etc not enter? Had planned a 12 hr operation but went over to 13 hrs hence a 24 hr entry. Note: KH8SI\ OC-200 did not give S/N for contest. Said use whatever you need.
K9NW Missed first four hours but mostly stuck it out till the end even though there were times when it was tough to find QSOs. 22-23z hours were especially productive. Though NA IOTA activity is improving I sure wish we could get to the FB activity levels of the EU IOTA ops. Thanks again to RSGB for sponsoring this fun event!
K9TRV First contest submittal!
KA1C My first IOTA contest. Quite a bit of fun considering I lost vision in right eye two weeks before contest and eye surgery made the computer screen way out of focus. I noticed a few operators didn’t get many calls due to their talking too fast. Many operators were extremely considerate and patient. That’s why I love ham radio!
KB3KYZ It was good to hear all stations through bad conditions. Until next year
KC9GGV Propagation was poor on 20 meters at my QTH. Lots of QRM during the hours I operated. I have a limited antenna situation\ using only a G5RV Jr at 17 feet attached to the back of the house since I live in an antenna restricted neighbourhood. But it was fun. More active on RTTY.
KD5LNO First time effort for a few hours. Thanks to Paul for SDI. Very nice software. Nice Contest
KE2N How to change mode of already logged contact in SD?
KE5DHY This was my first time in this contest. Didn’t make many contacts but had fun. Ill be back next year.
KH6GMP Sorry, just couldn’t do any better than that.
KI5JF Great contest! Hot weather blowing sand, lots of Mosquitoes and Ham radio - it just doesn’t get any better!
KN5G/P Operation from Galveston Island NA-143. Was happy to see the K index at a low level this year. Conditions were quite good even for us QRP aficionados
KS7T Nice to have this contest fall on the date I was first licensed 50 years ago! So celebrated by being on in the contest. Really enjoyed the activity and interesting conditions on 40 mtrs.
KX6N ft-817, 48 whip antenna with a single radial used whilst on holiday in the USA with my family (home call is Bob GU4YOX).
L40K Very bad condition of propagation on all band for mi station
LA7JKA This time my wire antenna building was a disaster. Got finally QRV with an SG-230 and a wire loop 7 meters high. Otherwise nice contest. CU next year.
LU4MHQ Congratulations for contest - is my first IOTA Test
LU5CAB The propagation is very bad .
LU5OM I have had a few hours of pure CW fun with my Elecraft K2/100 + Quad fixed on EU + N1MM logger. Band conditions?...don’t ask hi. Thank you and 73. Manuel LU5OM (also: CT4IK).
LY4DX Excellent contest logger (SDI). Contest need more awards for winners from all countries - more operators will work. Bad condition in Europe
LZ1NG Great program (SDI)!Thanks Paul!
LZ1PJ I operated from a vacation site. QTH too bad for ant. I did not hear well and wasn’t heard well too. Anyway it was fun as always
LZ2PEP Tnx nice contest ! In Saturday and Sunday very bad condx in my home; my wife is doing strong QRM , hi
LZ2PL Thanks to sponsors for this nice contest!
M0B A good test exercise
M0BAO/P Poor band conditions but good fun
M0BMX This is the first time that I have entered a competition for a 12 hours period and my first serious effort into the RSGB IOTA Do not think that the Cndx were all that good - But had great fun
M0CHK SDI was faultless
M0ERA Giving points away. Thanks for the contacts.
M0RUN Last contest activity from England as M0RUN. Moved back to Germany where I am DJ2QV
M1FDZ Good fun.
M1KTA Interesting to see the difference in the contest without being a DX expedition site this year operation was more hound rather than fox this time around. It was frustrating to hear so many DX stations but with 90W it was difficult to obtain QSO. Maybe next year will get a multi-element beam for 15/20/40? After lessons learnt as a DX expedition station last year it was important to spend some time each hour obtaining multipliers. Obtaining multipliers does seem to be more important than obtaining QSOs to keep the score up. A brief 10m opening was good for band multipliers and worked all bands. Even some stations on all bands. What an amazing finish worked VE3ZZ/P/VY2 in the closing minutes of the contest on 20m after working the same station at almost the same time just prior to the contest start on Saturday. Operating solo and only SSB this year I improved on last years score.
M3RCV Went with the full 10w this year! At least I could call CQ on 40 and 80m and got some replies. Good contest with plenty of activity.\
M4U Good activity. Problem with audio (headset) for 1st 2 hours. 40m dipole antenna failure so no QSOs on 40m. Good fun - primarily done as demo station at Rally
M4W We had a great time this year. Great effort from all! Even had an 80ft cherry picker delivered for our use. Roll on next year!
M5AAV/P Great Fun - As Usual
M5BFL Great contest as always. Shame to lose half of 20m due to split freq of DXpedition
M5KJM Thanks Paul for SDI
M8C Another fund trip to St Mary’s. Unfortunately Ralph 2E0ATY couldn’t join us this time but Justin G4TSH was a great replacement. Short skip conditions were not as good as last year but we had some great runs and were delighted in the last half hour to pass 3,000 Qs and 10,000 points; the latter was down to much better attention to multipliers helped considerably by the switch to Win-Test. We will be back next year!
MD4K Great Contest; and good company; conditions not bad too! We used Win Test for the first time; really liked it
MM0OVL/P Logged with SDI great when you read the instructions!! My first DXpedition. I will be there next year 4 sure. A lot of qsos heard above 14.300 Not the right spirit! Expected splatter from big teams in GM land Nothing Shame Euro Stations splattering over 5kcs. Slap wrists!
MM0Q Very tough going with 100w to wire antennas. Despite calling CQ constantly we were lost in the noise and our score is much less than last years. Almost not worth the effort activating a unique multiplier!
MM3M This was our second trip to Arran. A great success apart from blowing up two linears. Next year we aim for a top-ten position.\
N0CQI Thanks for managing the IOTA Contest. I enjoyed working it.
N1DX The first repeat QTH for this group and what an ideal location for not only contesting but enjoying a nice holiday along with it. With 4 ops we shouldn’t have had 2 1/2 hours off-time. Rate was terrible BUT there were interesting mults floating around at that time... We’d hoped to have a triband yagi in addition to our vert dipole arrays this year but it didn’t pan out. The 40 Meter 2 el. array turned into a 4-square this year and we opted for a Windom over HF2V vertical. That was a good choice as it was much more broadbanded and provided WARC and 6M entertainment before and after the contest.
N2GC 10 and 15 meters were disappointing this year. 80 was very noisy. bring on the sunspots!
N2US/P Enjoyed using the SDI Program in the offline mode
N2WN I would have liked to have had more time Saturday to play in this test. I was delayed in setting up the new SteppIr (finished it Saturday). The antenna was only about 7m off the ground but worked quite well. Conditions were all over the place. Some EU stations had monstrous signals in here but couldn’t hear the stateside folks calling. Many NA Islands kept it interesting. Was disappointed not to work a single JA. Participation was better than last year as I recall. Thanks to all of the /p and IOTApeditions.
N4PN Sorry could only operate 12 hours this year due to other commitments. Still lots of fun...see you next year from my Florida island (NA085) home again.
N4UH Twenty meters was the work band but Europe was in and out every ten minutes it seemed. That meant working North America during the European null. SDI program made it easy to keep on track.
N4WO I had a problems with N1MM sent exchange. I received an email on how to send serial number. It worked. It was the last 15 minutes of the contest. I was rear ended. The impact was enough to cause carpal tunnel so pain also took away from my contest time.
N5DTT Great contest. Next year after having some experience with the contest I will plan to operate from an IOTA location on the Texas coast.
N6VR Fun going to an island to operate instead operating from home. Condx fair with a good opening to Eastern Europe. A lot of man made and atmospheric noise at times especially 40m (radar). Glad to help many with a new IOTA.
N8CBW First time operating in IOTA contest. SDI program helped with the operation. Need to better use my time next year.
N8II Not much fun if you don’t live in Eu and have almost no propagation to Eu which was how it was till about 20Z. Condx decent on 40 but activity low. NA IOTAs down from past years; they run out of people to work as well!
N8KOJ SDI performed superbly. I will use it again.
NA0AA First serious attempt in a contest after I moved here in the USA... Poor conditions, low activity from US station. For few hours the bands were closed completely but we are at the minimum of the solar cycle aren’t we ?! Plus I was operating from the black hole W0 call area. BIG thanks to Alex KU1CW for letting me use his great station. See you again next year...73 Dragan NA0AA Z32XX...
NE1RD/1 I took the ferry from Boston out to the island in the morning and returned in the afternoon putting in a 6 hour effort. The view of the Boston skyline from my operating position was fantastic! My trusty K2 solar panel and Buddipole performed very well. They also attracted many curious people wondering what in the world I doing! Talking all over the world on just 5 watts -- less than a night light I said. Wonderful. I cant wait until next years contest!
NP3CW Due to personal problems I was not able to spend more time during the contest. Hope to do better next time.
NP3D/W2 Using Google is very amazing. I found my house and installed my spiderbeam; you can see it! See you next year! 73s Andrei EW1AR-NP3D
OE8NTK Condition very poor !!! My first IOTA Contest.
OH0/RA0FU Nice contest from North Europe (100 W simple antenna)
OH2NAF Poor propagations but so many stations. I have used SDI earlier and it is fine for that contest. Thank you for some new IOTA prefixes
OH6GFI Testing the new hand-made 3-band vertical. The contest was worked from the summer cottage in Alajarvi at Lake Hirvijarvi.
OH6LI Thank you for my first mainland IOTA contest experience! Fun contest although number of multipliers was not at expected level - or I just could not find them. See you all in 2007!
OH6NIO This year I had limited time to operate so I tried to squeeze in 12 hours. I started on Saturday at 1600Z so I lost 4 first hours but the propagation seemed to be good even at the later hours. I had a lot of fun as always.
OK1ARO Poor result this year only one LW antenna using due to roof re-construction. Next year must be better I hope. SDI is my prefer program, has no mistakes\
OK1BLU IOTA contest OK tnx
OK1CZ Good contest as always although condx disappointing. HF bands poor and QRN on LF.
OK1DOR Very nice contest. HPE CUAGN in RSGB IOTA 2007!
OK1TC Just giving points to contesters and to be in.
OK2SWD Good contest as usual. See you again friends
OK5SWL Good contest. See you again friends
OK8ANM Nice activity. Thanks to everyone for the points.
OL4M FB contest
OL6P This is my favourite contest. It is very nice.
OM8CD Next year will be better
ON4CAS Had been on holiday (with no HAM activity) in July during the last few years so very happy to join the IOTA contest fun again... even managed to work a new IOTA...
ON5WL Much activity like always in this contest. Ten metres was not good so only a few QSO. I had not much time to work in the contest. Next year better. Thanks for the organisation. I logged with SDI it works fine.
ON6NR A broken dipole! Murphy visited us! Difficult band conditions due to strong QRN. However lot of fun lot of IOTA stations and nice opportunity to say HALLO to lot of friends. See you again next coming year!
ON6QR Since my first IOTA contest from an island in 1995 this is my first participation from the mainland. Just to try. It’s much more fun to make an expedition! I will be on an island next year! For sure.
ON7CC I used SDI for logging - it’s great! Nice test cw
ON900BE Very bad propagation many qsb. SDi very fine contest program
OO2T Enjoyed the contest en SDI program
OO7B Just for fun. Very Lousy antenna over here. wait until next year for full participation. I’d loved it from the start.
OQ7T SDI worked great again. Great fun like always. Hope to be on an island next time
OR7Y Always great contest and lots of fun
OY1CT Great fun. Only wish CONDX had been better.
OZ/DL2VFR I would like to say thank you to my XYL for her patience - she let me work the last 12 hours of our holidays in the IOTA-Contest!
OZ0ACA Murphy was our best guest. Started 2h too late. Arrived too late, network problem etc.
OZ1IVA Used SDI and as usual a great program tnx.
OZ5VEJ Very good open on high bands\
P3J Enjoyable contest. Generally condx somewhat better than last year. I found phone a bore and hard work - hence only 243 Qs on phone but of course I therefore missed many mults! DX mults were few and far between. It was nice to find 10m open the last few hours of the contest with some useful late mults worked. The band seemed to be open to most of the UK including G GD GM GI as well as EI and much of Western Europe but I think may Gs may have missed it. Big signal from MD4K on this band. A number of Gs actually called me Bob (P3F) (same in the Commonwealth Contest)\ hopefully one day everyone will know that P3J is me!
PA0FAW Unfortunately after days of nice condx they had much disappeared and it was not easy with indoor antenna to work further away islands. is frustrated when someone comes back for pa0faw??? A station in Farawaygistan calls in with its super power
PA0IJM Have fun with the control of the incoming logs. I like SDI . I logging more than 15 years with this prog
PA1B Had great fun with milliwatts and QRP. PWR: 50mW, 100mW (with attenuator) or 500mW, 1W or 5W. When signals are strong (S9 +10dB) I often reduce to 50mW or lower using an attenuator. RIG: FT817 Ant Inverted V 2 x 10 mtr. Thank you for the nice contest.
PA1BX/P Overall a very good crew but just a few contest skilled Operators (esp.CW) . But the food was fantastic ...again...!!! TNX a lot. Better score then 2005 but we can do much better if we focus more on the multipliers . For the NON believers I state here again that beverages on 80, 40 and 20 and even 15 m are a big asset especially in a noisy environment in the summer . Even short ones perform flawlessly and produce good directivity . We closed the ones to East and West with 500 Ohm non inductive resistors and left the remaining one pointing North open so it was bidirectional what proved to be a good choice. We used one support ( surfmast - 4.5 m long- in the middle and sloped the rest ) . ConDX were fair and produced some local openings on 10m QTH was the same as last year and gave us plenty of antenna space on the farm . Pictures are available on www.on7lr.org . Thanks for the company in the contest qso form...Hope You all had a great time again and till next time. SOAPBOX written by ON5UM/OP5T Jim Aime DE SAEDELEER
PA2JJB After 5 years I enjoyed to be in the IOTA-contest again. Condx were pretty good and PC6IOTA also here on the island was really a very good team. SDI worked very fine and does the most of the work for me
PA5GU Glad to join contest for 2nd year. Only couple of QSOs feasible on 28 mcs. I went down to 7 mcs in the evening. Always nice happening.
PA6Z Wonderful contest that we enjoyed again with our field-day-style station and BBQ! We will return next year...
PB2T/P N1MM did wipe out our training QSOs, deleted them and start a new log but this did not reset the sequence number! It was a nasty surprise to see that for our first QSO we had to give number 069! We are very sorry for this but we could not repair it on short notice.
PC6IOTA Second time we participated in this contest this time with a second radio for the multiplier station. We almost doubled our score compared to last year but there is a lot to improve so we will be back next year!
PE2AJM Only made few QSOs but had much fun again working this contest. CU again next contest. Greetings from country of tulips
PE2KP It was great to work al those IOTAs with QRP. See you next year.
PJ4LS Half an hour before starting I downloaded this software (SDI) no problem to use it.
PP5BB Operated only 14 MHz with antenna used in the WRTC2006, Very good SDI\
PY2IQ nice contest even with very poor conditions
PY4FQ Sorry but the condx was very bad. Please CHECK-LOG.
PY7GK Although band condx not good enjoy again to join this pleasant contest
PY7OJ TKS FB TEST. I SEE YOU NEXT YEAR.
RA3NC Tnx for Contest !
RA3XEV Thank you for the nice contest. I hope to see you again.
RA9CB I’m very pleased to take part in this contest for the first time. It seems to be quite interesting! Probably next time will choose an island to activate. Thank you!
RI0MO/P Travel to island only to naval ferry ( boat ) ; Island have not radioamateur resident ; All radio equipment and antennas was delivered by boat.
RI1AA IT IS VERY INTERESTING CONTEST! UP TO THE MEETING IN IOTA-2007!
RK1B/P Thanks a lot to RU1AS, RN1AP for delivery and technical support. And RI1AA for competition from EU-133
RN3GM Good contest!
RN6DJ tnx fb contest. condx is not good! cu again
RZ3DO This contest was hard work.
RZ4SWM Much better than it was in 2005. See you next year!
S51DX Great contest, just using wire antennas.
S56G Great fun with K2 and a vertical antenna from summer house. TNX to all with good ears for Qs and multipliers!
S59TI My first effort in HF contests. I had a great time; it’s a pity that we don’t have any IOTA islands in Slovenia. :)
S9SS Band condx very poor here with nearly total blackout at 2000 UTC on Saturday. Gave up at 1130 on Sunday. SDI logger made for enjoyable logging experience. I was limited to SSB since my XP computer will not send proper CW without help.
SA1A Limited activity this year. Set a goal of 500 QSOs which were met. Our daughter was born just two weeks prior the contest so I was a bit QRL, hi.
SK0HS/5 I was operating from Vassaro (JP90ig). The island belongs to the Scout and Guide district of Stockholm. For more information see www.vassaro.nu
SM/OZ4PAT Used SDI for the first time, great program, it takes a smart Irish man to put something like that together.
SM0BXT I enjoyed using SDI and shall use it again
SM2YIP Nice easy contest log program (SDI)
SM4DDS SDI appreciated very much as always
SM5EFX/2 This was my first IOTA-contest and I really enjoyed it. It turned out to be a small scale DXpedition. The equipment was loaded into the 3 meter long sail boat on Saturday morning aiming for the island 2 km away. The antennas and the station were in operation just after the beginning of the contest. In the early morning hours it was very difficult to get through with QRP-power down to Europe but later in the morning it was possible even to call CQ. Total number of QSOs was 151 and this will be the number to beat next year.
SM6CRM Very good program used it for the first time instead of Writelog. SD is more intuitive. I liked it!
SP1/DK7YY tnx to SP1NL for all helping
SP1AEN Poor conditions for my low power and only lw antenna. Good SDI program for this contest. Tnx for EI5DI
SP6FXY/7 It was very hot in my holiday QTH: 32 deg C.
SP6LV Since 1957 SP2LV – 1973, again 1997 SP6LV. Age 75.
SP6NVK Many islands stations calls IOTA reference please. I thought that we all are EQUAL participants! This is not HAM spirit. Some DX stations calls CQ with info Up 5 to 10 kHz. In Sunday after 9.00 GMT was more these stations and about 50 kHz on 14 MHz band was UNUSED - there tens of HAMs called these DX-stations and beg for answer! It does not sense because DX choose only most worth stations (multipliers).
SP8HXN See you in the next year.
SV1BRL/8 I do wait for the propagation to be improved as I long for the about 1000qsos in 12h.in the meantime I enjoy the contest and the friends I meet every year and the points they give me I thank them all. SDI although I use it once a year it is very familiar
SV5/OL8R It was fun although I could not reach results I did two years ago. QTH was on the south of the Island in the mountains area.
SV8/G0TSM/P I struggled to get over 400QSOs but operating from a nice location made up for it, definitely better than last years cold and wet trip to EU-120 Isle Of Wight.
SV8/PA9M/P Condx poor about the huge mountains to Europe. First iota expedition. See you next year.
SV8GXC My first time in IOTA. I had a lot of fun!!!
TA3J/0 First activity from Sican Adasi (Rat Island) AS115
TM7C We had again great fun operating from F9IEs home on Noirmoutier Island(EU-064). We used last year experience to better balance CW/SSB operating time. We built from scratch the Spiderbeam 2. This took a little longer than what we experienced to build the 3 bands version last year but it was up and (very well) running about 1h after the contest started. Propagation was better than expected on the higher bands but very few real DX. We laughed a lot, food was great as well as local muscadet wine. See you again next year from EU064
UA0SBQ HPE CUAGN!
UR5IKN Great contest! Special thanks to those who have activated the islands and gave us mults!
UR7EZ My second try in this contest. Ant was dipole. Rig was first ever time IC-7000. Power up to 80w. Have a nice trial.
US0HZ Thank you very much for a contest. It was a great pleasure to meet old friends.
UT7GX Tnx fer nice contest! Good luck!
UY5ZI Cool contest.
VA1MM Conditions not so good.
VA2SG A fun contest!
VA3GD Great Contest, one of the best. Enjoyed it very much despite high QRN.
VA3RKM My thanks for working a small signal!
VC2W The contest was fun as always but propagation to Europe was often nonexistent: it definitely hurt our score. Also no good late-night openings into Asia or Oceania. Some new antenna ideas and improved computer networking helped\ but were looking forward to more sunspots! Next year we will probably try a new island- Bon Portage with an almost perfect antenna site on the ocean....
VE1JS This is really just a token log so that I can say that I have been in every IOTA Contest since its inception in 1993. Good fun as always in spite of lousy condx. Something must be done to correct the imbalance between Europe and North America. It is really two contests!!
VE1RAR As a rookie I found it a difficult contest as conditions were not too good. However I will look forward to next year.
VE2FK Most interesting. Will try to be on island in St-Lawrence next year.
VE3MCF Lots of thunderstorms in the area. I had limited operating time as you can see from my score. Still enjoyed the setup and learning experience and hope to be in a better operating environment next year.
VE3OIJ Didn’t know about contest. Found out after. Am new to this sort of thing. Will have to learn more and perhaps participate in the next one. Thanks.
VE3OM Enjoyed the contest very much. My post-Stroke condition prevented me from fully participating (hence my meagre score); however the time spent was therapeutic to say the least. I look forward to next year.
VE3TPZ Only a few hours to play radio this weekend and give a few points from the Summer QTH Near Bayfield Ontario.
VE3ZZ/VY2 IOTA is the best contest ever! Great fun!
VE7NH Due to extreme hot wx the power line noise on this system is extreme. Could only stand 4.5 hours of operating on and off at times. Very few jas or vk/zl around and eu was poor at least under the noise level except for g7n who was booming in. Decided to quit at a score of 30,000. Enough noise is enough. The older I get the less power line noise I can take.....
VK2WL Lousy propagation from this part of the globe being our winter. Nevertheless there were some good contacts.
VK4BUI Conditions good early but couldn’t get into eu easily and decreased over the 24 hrs. Used SD by ei5di again - great stuff\
VO1HP/P First timer in IOTA. Used SDI and found it very easy to use. FB program. Operated from my oceanside 100 yr old cottage in Freshwater Conception Bay and found the bands so quiet compared to the city that I thought the antennas were not working! Hastily erected inv. vee for 80/40 using 72 ohm balanced feeders a triband vertical on the ground near saltwater's edge about 150ft from the operating position. Best DX heard but not worked FO/KM9D. Was a bit surprised with the number of dupe callers ...
VO1MX Wow! That was fun; we didn’t realize there was such a demand for NA198 until the pileups started on 20 meters. Too bad the ops on the other end wouldn’t listen more carefully to our requests as they actually slowed us down during the contest. 10 and 15 never opened at all for us and RF problems on 40 limited what we could do during the contest. Plans are already underway for another island next year with the same team. Thanks for the qsos and qsl is okay via VO1MX bureau or direct.
VY2/W1OH Great fun to operate S&P for a few hours from PEI (NA-029). Rig here was an FT897 running 5 watts to an 80M doublet fed with twin lead and mounted on a fibreglass mast strapped to an upstairs balcony on our vacation rental cottage resulting in a centre height of nearly 55 feet above ground. And being only 100 yards from saltwater probably didn’t hurt either! Maybe some year I’ll do a serious contest effort but vacations are all too short so have to fit in a lot of goofing off, sleeping and eating lobster! Thanks for the fun contest RSGBIOTA!!
W0CEM An island contest from the middle of the USA seemed like a challenge. You do a lot of listening.
W4ATL Not too many answers to my CQs. Activity seemed to be low due to poor conditions. Equipment used was K2/100, Buddipole N1MM Logger from deck of beach house.
W4KTF I had a lot of fun operating from iota na-112. It was great. The only complaint I have is that everybody works everybody and because of this fixed stations were calling cq and in my opinion that took away from the whole point of the contest. To work island stations. Other than that I had a wonderful time and look forward to doing it again.\
W6FA Pretty good contest despite the lack of sunspots. But where were all the islands in the Caribbean? Only heard (worked) C6 and FM
WB0YJT Yes I enjoyed the contest very much
WB8JUI This was my first IOTA contest and definitely will not be my last. Thanks to all for the QSOs!
WP3GW The only good band to work was 20 meters so blame the down cycle hi hi!
XE1L It is always a pleasure to work the IOTA contest.
YB0ECT Not good propagations ! but had a lot of fun. See you next one !
YB2ECG Nice contest but contest rule should be more spread widely. A few stations who join didn’t know what the exchange and we need give them a short explanation. Anyway still got the fun on the contest.
YB5AQB Third year in a row that Europe was all mouth and no ears alligators wall to wall especially on 40 metres.
YC0BCU Nice to follow the IOTA Contest
YC0NFL This is the first time I participate in IOTA Contest 2006. Propagation is not good. Next year I will participate again. Good luck
YC1SSS Hi my first IOTA contest
YC1TJ My First IOTA Contest.
YC5OUB Nice to follow this contest; hopefully next time I get a good propagation
YE1ZAT Greeting from Bekasi DX CLUB and hope to meet in next year.
YI9QJ Thanks for a great contest.
YL2PP Tnx for nice contest QSOs
YL2PQ Tnx for nice contest!
YM0T Hello everybody! Another good contest for me. Bad conditions at solar minimum but made good antennas using HD Spiderbeam poles: One element quad for 14-21-28, 1/4 wave vertical with 8 radials for 7 and a 1/2 wave sloper for 3.7. And best multiplier score for me.
YO2/DL1CW Strong thunderstorm at night forced to change for 12 hours category and more sleep :-)
YO5BRZ Nice Contest.
YO7HHI lot of fun on my radio.
YO8RIX Pretty good participation
YO9BXC See you in 2007 edition!
ZC4LI Thanks to all concerned in running the contest.
ZL3DW Very poor band conditions for ZL this year. SDI program works well.
ZL4JB It was a fun contest. I will be giving it a go next time too. Thanks and 73!
