5B/G0TSM- Station FT2000, AL811 Amp, triband yagi @9M, 40M Dipole @13M, 80M Dipole @11M.
Another great Long Weekend in Cyprus, temp peaked 39C while we were on the
roof installing the antennas. Thanks to Noz 5B4AIX for the hosptiality.
5P5CW- Hard business with my new friends from OK: OK4MM and OK2SG. Not alone
on the same IOTA - no, also on the same camping side! But we do our
best...
7K1CPT- RIG K3 output power 5Watts ANT Dipole up 10mh
QRV from on the Reverbank with my car.
Battery for only radio(not used battery for car) with solar charging when oprating.
7N2UQC- I was able to enjoy this contest.Tnx for a fine contest again.
Rig:IC-706, ANT:Dipole
8S0C- It is a very fun contest, but it is better to be on on island than operating from main land. Conditions were poor but there was a lot of activities, especially in Europe. This was the first time I used my own call. Normally I activate our scout clubs call SK0HS from either of two island in EU084 group. But it was not possible to do so this year.
I hope to be back next year and then from an island.
Thanks for a fun contest.
Mel - SM0MPV
9A/OE3ZK- Nice addition to my family holidays on Korcula Island - using simple equipment and antenna
9A/VE3ZIK- Day 4 after IOTA Contest. Originally plan was to be active all 24h SOAB LP DXPN
category BUT...
we are going from the beggining. After some discussion with Rolando, 9A3MR, he suggested me there is a small reef name Kukuljar, not far away from Murter Island (Murter is not counting for IOTA). After small excursion 3 days before the contest, I decided to be QRV from Hrid Kukuljar. References:
EU-170, CI-231, ARLHS CRO-079.
The island is very small, reach only with boat.
We (me and my XYL) arrived at Friday evening. Just put some kind of inv vee dipole to test an equipment.
Saturday morning was day D. We erected L/4 Verticals for 40, 20 and 10m. For 15m and 80m band I used an half wave dipole antennas. All antennas was erected on fiberglass roads (7m, 12.5m and 15m).
Before the contest, 10m was open, and I decided to start on 10m.
What a good decision! 3 hours, 280 QSOs, 44 MTPL on CW SSB. 10m lives...
After 8 hours first problems with power generator, and I was almost 45 minutes QRT (later will be a bad decision not to wait 15 more minutes). A Generator was gone at 22:15 UTC. I have some battery, but what to do? I had only 1h and 45 minutes left for 12h category, but, I planned to be active 24h and most of time I called CQ :-)
Rest of 1h and 45m I tried to collect as more as I can multipliers.
Early in the morning, wind war even stronger and stronger, and 9A3MR Rolando took us from the Kukuljar Reef.
I an preety sure, if generator was capable to produce 220V, I could work 1400 or even more.
I am not dissapointed. This was a really DXPN, no appartments, no air
condition, no water, NOTHING on the island except a small house from the old lighthouse. And some kind of gray grasshoppers. :-)
This IOTA DXPN was a great expirience for me.
Thanks to:
- my wife Zaklina because she was 2 days with me, she help about antennas, food and everything what I need for this DXPN;
- 9A3MR Rolando for transportation;
- 9A3MA for a generator (next year this generator will work all 24 hours, HI)
- and all IOTA STN who made a quick QSY to work some more MTPL (especially 9A5ST/p and 9A8ZRS).
See you in IOTA 2010, I hope from Kukuljar, and I preety hope with some Multi Op team :)
73, Zik VE3ZIK
ps. ALL QSL for IOTA activity will be sure via the bureau 100% via DO7ZZ...
9A2QF/P- Every hour I had to control where my boat is - or I could be stuck on the island.

As usual I used SDI the best IOTA software ever!
9A7T- Very limited DX-cluster access and also very limited 80 meters. See you again next year.
9A8W- Fun, but no time for real contesting. 73 to all
9M2MRS- yaesu ft897 + at897 tuner

condx not good with small antenna
9M6JM- Unfortunately, bad condx, indeed.
Next year we anticipate good condx.73
AD1L- I very much enjoy the IOTA event. I do wish however that there was a RTTY element!
AD5WB- Great contest. Interesting propagation. Could not operate all hours planned due to other obligations. Look forward to next year. 73, Leslie
AD8P- I had fun. Too bad conditions were so poor.
AM1S- Nice weather and all the facilities on the Lighthouse
AO1I- It was a great experience work alone from the Lobeira Grande Island. Made the Installation of all the equipment and the antenna and operate the contest.
The wind throw my HF6V vertical antenna and I could not operate at night but I will try do it better the next year.
¿ Why not a vert Antenna Overlap Category for the next contest?
73 Dx
B7P- I worked alread from B7P during the wpx, and the conditions was good on all the band, but in the summer due to weather there are just a few openings. Good start on 20mt with good opening with EU during evening and night also if was very noise.
Later on 40mt high qrm , 40db over S9 for local army radars so just get the chance to work a few strong signal.
80mt complitely close and noisy. On sunday morning 15mt close just a few qso with asia stations.
At list a great experience and fun as always.
BG3EO/2- Very good island and very good contest.I love IOTA.
C4I- All went well on new station equipment 6e 20m, 6e 15m, 7e 10m, GP 40m, inverted V for 80m, 400watts from amp.

excercise more patience and time on finding mlts.
C6APR- C6APR entered the Multi-Op Expedition category, it was the teams third IOTA contest from the Crooked Island Lodge at Pittstown Point, Crooked Island. Each year we try different rigs and antennas.
This time we had a 3 element beam at 40 feet fixed on Europe and another 3 element beam at 30 ft fixed on US/Japan. For 10m and 15m we had phased R5s. We caught some 10m opening this year. Again the 40m phased Butternuts performed very well. For 80 we had a 55 foot mast. Being on a peninsula (FL22tt) helps our signal too. The 40m and 80m night time QRN made digging out the calls a challenge. Our raw score is up almost 30% over last years raw score. The rigs were two K3s and the software was N1MM Logger. The staff at Crooked Island Lodge was very accommodating. We had excellent meals and the management and staff were very friendly.
CR2W- First contest activity with the new two by one call sign CR2W according to the new license law.
After 3h our FT1000MP got problems with the modulation - sorry when you couldnt copy us.
Sunday morning we lost our network and the multiplier stations made some Qs in error - sorry.
Condition were bad all the time. 15m opened towards the end of the contest.
CT3/PA1B- On holiday in Madeira, I made a 4 QSOs from the room. The U-form of the hotel shielded all signals.
Went to the corridor, on the top floor with 2 garden chairs and a backpack with the RIG and accus
With the wire antenna of 10 mtr thrown out of the window it was still difficult to QSO, with only
2.5 W from my FT-817 on a battery (12V 4Ah) Total: 19 QSOs and 5 islands
Thank you for the contest.
CT7/LZ3ND- Cu agn on the next contest!
DC9ZP- Very exciting contest, TNX
DF2LH- it was agn a great fun!
DF5BM- Dear RSGB, thank you for the nice contest. Thank you to all IOTA-stations for their work to be active from an island. Hear you next year ! 73 DF5BM

DJ3GE- QRP 4.9 Watt FT817 > tuner > 2 Ele Mini Yagi (15m)
Windom antenna, 21m long, 8m high (40, 20, 10m)
Again a nice contest also for QRP stations.
Thanks to all operators and best 73s.
DJ4PK- Fun. Even with limited equipment like 9m vertical wire only here, hi.
DJ6QT- Thanks for a nice contest.
It would be great if some stations would give their calls after a done
QSO, to say the call between two QSO is not to much.
OM3JW insulted me because he could not work VC8B who has called me after
a CQ.
DK4US- Only limited operating time but lot of fun agn. Cuagn next year on the
islands! 73 Axel
DK5XG- Nice contest but poor condx. See you next year.
DK8NT- Despite better setup (N1MM, Winkeyer) I had fewer points than after
the same time in 2008. With more time this year, however, I was able
to surpass my 2008 result. Simply bad condx?
DK8OL- ICOM IC-7800 plus IC-PW1
GP 7m long 50 radials
was much fun again!
condx slightly better than last year
DL/KJ5T- This was my first time in the IOTA contest, I happened to be visiting DJ1YFK
this week in Munich and so over the weekend DJ6ZM let me come and operate his
station. I wasnt 100% serious in this contest, but I really did love the
opportunity to work a contest from a big station and to get on the air here in
Munich. I look forward to IOTA next year, perhaps I will actually go operate
from an actual IOTA.
DL1ASA- my first IOTA Contest only with simple Dipol for 40m
see you next year with better antennas
DL1JGG- Is was my first participation without big planning more incidentially. But it was agreat pleasure. I was in the garden with my stn and it was a wonderful weather.

Fine contest, but propagation could have been better.
Used SDI for the 1st time, just worked fine.
DL4AC- I had great fun in this contest: a brand new IC-7600 worked flawlessly, condx were good and many interesting stations were on the air.
DL4EAX- A big thanks to Paul EI5DI for providing such a smart
logging software!
DL4MAQ- 1st try, it was a nice one and Ill come back next year
DL4MCF- This year at my new QTH - but at the moment only with small antennas (SteppIR Vertical and 80m dipole) and 1 Radio. But anyway it was a lot of fun. I will be back next year with bigger antennas and with SO2R again. Thanks to all callers, to all island stations and especially to the island-dxpeditions.

EA8OM- First participation in IOTA-Contest as an Island Station, not sure
if it makes more fun than Non-Island. Enjoyed the contest in prevoius
years from my homestation DJ1OJ in the city of Munich likewise.
EC1KR- Worked found islands and with only 400/500w, a fantastic contest, see
you the next year again. Jesus EC1KR

EI6GGB- Iota ref=EU-115
New to Amateur Radio contests so i thought the IOTA would be a good start.
I have a young family so time was limited but i enjoyed the contacts i made and look forward to do it all again next year.
EI9HX- This is my second year taking part in the IOTA contest, and again I really enjoyed myself.
Equipment used IC-7800, Ant 4-Element Quad @ 17m, Wimdom 160, and Amp Acom-2000A.
Band conditions were mixed with some good openings.
73s
Patrick.
EJ/DL5CW- A big adventure, but because of bad weather forecast for the afternoon and the next days (rough sea with storm), I had to finish the contest after only 30 minutes and had to abandon the Island on Saturday. Only 38 QSOs were in the log.
EJ0GI- Thanks for organising this great contest
EJ1DD- Icom Pro3, Yaesu FT1000MP
80 40m dipoles. 40m vertical wire dipole. Loops for 20 15 10m.

is a great location.
ES0W- field qrp-station powered by sunpanel in Saaremaa eu-034
ES5NHC- Rig: UW3DI-II
Antenna: Simple dipole for 20m
Propagation very bad. Tons of QSB. Still quite enjoyable event though... Used SDI logger for contest.
F/DF7JC- Was my first time in this CW contest. I had quite some fun to work
from Brittany, France. Meet you next year again.
F/OE5JKL- ICOM IC-7000
Dipol 2x6.5m with Wireman Feeder. 12m to 3m about 45deg.
Summer Holidays in south of france, Collioure, at the Mediterranian only a few miles from the spanish border . The rig was in a caravan on a nice camping place.
F/OT2A- We also want to thank ON4AHF, ON6LEO, ON6ZU, ON7YT and the XYLs!
F/OT3T- After a past activation of EU-039 in 1988 and activation of EU-105 in 2007 by a number of teammembers, we were very happy to (re)activate CHAUSEY this year ! Look for us again in 2010 !
F5SGI/P- Quite difficult with a G5RV and strong QRN. I did my best and enjoyed the contest. Ill send a QSL card for all QSOs (via the bureau). Many thanks to all those I contacted. By the way, Belle Ile is a wonderful place to visit !
F5VHQ- Icom IC-706
GAP Titan DX
As usual a lot of pile-up at the BBQ during big family
event. Hope to have more time for the radio next year
hihi. 73 de John - F5VHQ
F5VKT- Getting the strategy between running and SP difficult to get right in the 12 hour section.
F5VNB- A really enjoyable contest and my admiration goes out to all who set
up stations on windswept islands. High spot was working VK7XX on 20m
long path in the middle of the night. K3, Acom 1000, 3el SteppIR and
inv V at 22m.
F8CRS- hello,
just came 5 hours because very busy but 2 new IOTA.
very nice contest as usual

G0MRH- Kenwood TS-870
156 ft Doublet
Enjoyed the contest again this year.
Not able to make a longer operating period
Thanks again to Super Duper - IOTA version for the log
G0MTN- With hindsight, I again picked a sub-optimal 12 hours to operate. I convinced myself that all multipliers
were in my skip zone! Some pileups were very frustrating, as were those that continue to refuse to ID.
Mostly SP, but I got drawn into spells of running when I ran low of new stations to find.
Well done to the teams that made the effort to activate islands and mount expeditions.
G0PBV- FT840
Half size G5RV and Cushcraft R6000
Very enjoyable; would like to know what to change at my
QTH to get across the pond! Thanks again to EI5DI for
the logging program!
G0PSE/P- IC756PRO2
Carolina Windom 4 element yagi
A very enjoyable contest. SDI worked perfectly.
G0VDZ- Great start, ten qsos and the linear plays up. Ended up running 100 watts.
Lost a bit of interest. 40 Metre dipole started playing around with high swr every now and then. Interest waned even more.
Still there is allways next year
G0VXC- Yaesu Ft1000mp mk5

G0WWD- FT101ZD

20m and 40m were my two best bands.
G1T- Great fun this year, trying some CW for the first time and using some home made verticals. We beat our core from last year which we are extremely happy about.
G2B- Yaesu FT1000MP
DIPOLE 80/40/20M 3ELM BEAM 10/15/20M
We got of to good start but it went down from there
most all the ops came down with very bad colds some did
not make it as families had to come first. so with lost
voices it was SP most of the time looking for islands
We will be back next year hopefully fit and well
G2R- IC756ProII
3-ele Beam + Dipole
Very few US station heard and no VKs still sore about
the cricket!!!!
SDI worked flawlessly as usual - many thanks to Paul
EI5DI for keeping up the great work
G3BJ- Great contest, and some high scores around. Congrats to all who made the trip to islands for the event and made it so much fun for everyone. Conditions very good - both LF and HF - and rates high throughout the contest. Super fun !
G3LHJ- Yaesu FT 990 - 100wts
3 El Tribander TA33Jnr 80/40M Loaded Dipole
Great contest again. a struggle with the low sun spots
but lots of activity on all bands. CU again next
year god willing.
SD Logging work faultlessly - super IOTA Prog.
G3PHO- Only had very limited operation due to other commitments so this is not a serious entry!
Will be back next year as part of our annual Sheffield Amateur Radio Club effort.
G3PSM- FT1000MP
HF9V/80 metre dipole
Quite few stations hadnt read the small print with
respect to frequency limitations.
G3TDH- IC-7000
Inverted V wire dipole
Well supported contest well done by the organisers.
Used software logger for first time (SDI)
will always do so from now on.
G3TTC- FT1000MP

QSO number 53 not used (oops!)
I heard a number of SSB stations below 7050 in the
narrow bandwidth mode part of 7MHz.
G3TXF- Part-time entry this year. Many multi-mode island stations appear to use CW only
as a source of mults, rather than for seriously running CW. This can make it
difficult to find some of the big multi-op island stations on CW!
G3VMY- FT767
Vert/Invl
S6-9 noise on 20 40m.plus no cw filter.
Also a new and untried hb antenna. Tough for a QRP er.
G3WKL- FT2000
HF6VX and FT4
Enjoyable - first time that I've operated more than a few QSOs.
Need to watch the clock - I was 14 mins over the 12 hours!
SDI was great but need to read the help file next time!
G3WW- A part-time effort this year due to work commitments.
G3YEC- Elecraft K3
3EL YAGI and dipole for 40M
SD Great as ever
Good to hear old friends once again. Why oh why do some
stations insist on working up to seven contacts before
giving their callsign ? This wastes the listeners time.
G4DDL- FT2000
30m Longwire at 8m and 30m loop at 6m
Thought Id give the mixed section a go this year
certainly enjoyed it. I may try to persuade the club to
do a multi-op next year!
Nice to see all the island expeditions out as usual
G4EKT/P- TS850 + RANGER 811 PA
TH5.40/80M DELTA.80M SLOT.80M VERT.3X 40M PHASE VERT

for the first time. Worked well.
G4FYH/A- FT2000
DMV Pro (but had a serious cable problem)
Operating /A and suffered serious antenna problem.
Please regard this as a Check Log only
G4LMW- Ten-Tec Orion, 100W to LF Dipole/ Hexbeam. Hard to crack the pile-ups for multipliers
using 100W so just held runs and hope theyd come to me!
G4PIQ- A few QSOs dipping in and out at home. Sounded great fun.
K2/100, 100W, G5RV, one leg @ 8m, other twisted round fence
G4RFR- FT1000MP Mk V Field
TH6DXX
Lots of activity from island expeditions
which was much appreciated
Callsign IDs were not given between QSOs by quite a number
of high power stations - just QRZ, QRZ between multiple (seven or more) contacts
which can be annoying when looking for multipliers.
G4RLS- ts850
end loaded dipole fed with open wire feeder
just a little fun entry in between family committments
to fly the flag
G4RYV- Icom IC706 Mk1
Inverted Vee
First Time Entry, quite an experience, very interesting.
Must improve my Morse receiving speed for next time.
SDI was very helpful used for first time.
G4WGE/P- Completely mis judged the time required to set up 2 antennas and a tent - over an hour late on the air! Gave up an hour early due too due to high winds causing damage to the tent and operating position.
Didnt seem to be the best radio conditions but it was still my best ever IOTA claimed score! Too much running and not enough SPing for the mults. Maybe SO2R next time.
G4XPE- Rig IC-7200
Power 100 watts rf output
Antenna (7 MHz) trap dipole inverted vee apex approx 3.81 mtrs agl
Antenna (14 / 21 MHz) HF5 trap vertical ground mounted
Conditions very typical of the bottom of the sunspot cycle
I do wonder why non-island to non-island contacts count for scoring in an island contest!
G4ZA/P- KENWOOD TS-850S 80W O/P

Picked up three all-time-new islands for the log.
G6UBM- ten tec orion

sdi worked well thanks paul
conditions seemed flat
stations calling qrz without giving callsign
G7SKR- Icom IC-7400
Various wire dipoles not above 9 metres AGL
Conditions poor compared to last year. Better
preparation and some temporary wire dipoles
helped the score past last years. S and P Only.
G8A- great contest with mixed bag of dx.
G8ZRE- Yaesu FT897
Hustler ground mounted vertical 5BTV
SD easy to use.
Enjoyable contest.
The Dutch stations are the best stations always repeat both callsigns and check details are correct a real credit to amateur radio.
GD0F- Thanks to Alex GD6IA and Val for the use of the shack and the great hospitality!
GI0ADX- This was our eleventh consecutive year at Rathlin Island for us. WX mainly sunny warm with occaisional rain showers. Looking forward to IOTA 2010.
GI4GTY/P- Decided to air the club callsign. Thought a few club member might call in will cool beer but not a bit of it! Very little dx but plenty of stations about.
GJ6YB- A very eciting competion again this year, and there seemed to be a high level of
island activity around the world.
We used the same site as last year but with the mult station located on higher ground.
A number of improvements to the mult station antennas, particularly a larger
HF beam proved valuable chasing down those elusive multipliers.
We also re-arranged the run station antennas to take better advantage of land slopes.
Otherwise it was essentially the same set-up as last year.
A couple of problems had to be fixed before the off...
One arm of the new mult station 40m rotatable dipole snapped before the contest and
the tower had to be lowered to make the fix. Also the Emotator on the mult tower
cracked and we had to do a swap with another rotator.
Conditions were poor on 15m and 10m. Except for a few South Americans, Sporadic E
was the only game in town. 20m was very much better and by far our most productive band
A lot of DX was around on 40m at night with the big advantage this year being able to
run to the USA above 7100. We didnt do much on 80m, which may have been a mistake.
We were very lucky to have good weather, which made everything that much more fun.
GM0B- Several last minute call offs meant only 3 ops. So, we went for fun
and took just one transceiver which meant not having to build the 2nd
shack and antennas etc etc. Bad weather forecast but was beautiful
all weekend except for Sunday morning, although it cleared up by the
finish. Linear gave up at 2am so 100w till the end from then. All
great fun and a big learning process.
GM0GMN- Yaesu FT-1000MP Mark-V (200 watt version)
Butternut HF9V
This was my first official entry into IOTA and
I really enjoyed it. Shame conditions were not better.
GM2T- Another great contest. The weather was outstanding on the Friday and well into the Saturday. Stayed dry for the take down on the Sunday. Got wet the Friday night and Sunday night, oops sorry with a few beers!!!
As always the hospitality shown by the island people was second to none it makes the trip really worthwhile
Technical stuff
Wireless network ran superbly and Wintest proved again the best
for software. Issues were a Faulty FT1000MP which lost its RX Audio fortunately we had taken a spare radio otherwise we would have been stuffed as they say. Problems with External DVK and CW being controlled from the keyboard. Lost time when Wintest changing
the CW filter selection on the radio when a QSO picked off the band map, took a while to spot. Otherwise all run smoothly. Oh and the cows didnt bother us this year although once again the farmer had put them in the field a few days before we arrived
GM4AGG/P- Operating from croft in Upper Edinbane, Isle of Skye. Rig was IC-735 running 100w from diesel generator, antenna was Delta Loop attached at 2 supports.
GM4EMX- FT897
DX88 Vertical Ground Mounted Small Back Garden
First time back since 2003 but with only 95 Watts.
Best DX Trinidad & Prince Edward Island both on 20 mtrs
Used SDI loging a joy to use
Wish ops would speak slower saves time in long run

SD ran perfectly again and the IOTA09.LST file publish-

time mult searching but was enjoying myself too much I guess

CONTEST THANKS TO ALL WHO WORKED ME ..USED SDI AS USUAL
GM7V- Great contest as always. Some problems with WinTest issuing serial numbers.
Beautiful island, great WX, good pile-ups.
GM7WOS/P- Operating from croft in Upper Edinbane, Isle of Skye. Rig was TS-520 running about 80W, into a G5RV inverted V antenna fed with standard ladderline on an 8m high pole. Diesel generator for power.
GW6W- A field day style portable operation from the harbour side in Holyhead,
North Wales. Several non-contester club members came along to operate
and help out to make it an enjoyable and worthwhile weekend. No internet access meant the mult station was 100% pure S and P!
2 K3 radios, an inverted vee doublet and a Butternut vertical.
GW8K- This year we only made it by the skin of our teeth due to bad weather a stormy sea state.
We had to travel light load unload on the island in record time to beat the tide weather.
This year we were low on operators only 3 equipment. Antenna was the R7000 vertical a Butternut for 80/40.
Rig for spotting was the Icom IC7000 great little rig. Running rig was the trusty Yaesu FT1000MP.
We had trouble with the generator other Murphy visits. But he always loves to visit islands hi.
But our small team had a ball even found time to crack open a very small bottle of beer around 0500 GMT when the team hit 1,000,000 points.
We are not world beaters but by heck we do have fun thats what radio contests should be.
HA5LZ- Many thanks for the nice IOTA contest!
HB9XCL- Unfortunately the conditions didnt allow me to have any qso to USA or
South America. Murphy was here: G5RV antenna suddenly went on strike, not possible to
tune anymore..I still wonder what the problem was...but the MagLoop
worked great. Enjoyed the contest very much, hope to hear all
participants again next year!
HG5XA/P- I wanted to operate portable from an island this time. As we have no
sea here, I chose Szentendrei Island on the river Danube. Although the
score is not great (only used a single wire among trees) I utterly
enjoyed the contest. The hospitality of the hotel team at Rosinante
Fogado in Szigetmonostor was unparalled, I never before experienced a
dinner consisting of 32 different fine dishes served at the radio table during any contest :-)
I2AZ- IOTA is always a very nice contest and I enjoy it. Good conditions on higher bands, many island stations and also good operators. Rig only 5 Watt from Yaesu FT 817 and a vertical 80 - 10 mt antenna. i2AZ
I2KBD- ICOM IC756PRO III
SteppIR 2 elements
Nice contest my first IOTA. Enjoyed very much!
I2WIJ- Another crazy IOTA operation from home! Fun anyway! Bob, I2WIJ
IA1/IK2MLS- Only about 3 hours of activations just to have fun in the contest!
Working conditions Yaesu 857 , vertical antenna and a battery
Not much propagation, many QSO with Europe none outside
IA5/IQ3MO- We operated from Capraia Island (Li) Eu028, Italy, with K2 and IC7000 with fishing rod GPs for 20 40m, and dipoles for 80m and 10,15 20m. Very good partecipation, we enjoyed working also on higher bands we were not expecting to find so many stations !!! We have to improve the setup for the next time but the result seems better than last year. 73 de Stefano, IV3LZQ
IB0R- nice contest, so much fun, working conditions precarious with carolina windom and nice job from the CREATE 703V-1, but certainly next year not try more low power category, too destructive hi hi
see you
IC8WIC- IC-781

My first RSGB Iota contest, Im very glady to partecipat

Best 73s de Claudio IZ0KRC.
IS0/OM8A- Our the first attempt from Sardinia Island. Good openings on 10m to UK and
central Eu. We have to announce to the global society of HAM radio operators we
lost very valuable member Jozef OM3NA.:-((((( He died one week after contest.
RSGB IOTA contest was last for him. He is big loss for our team.
OM8A team will never forget for him!!!!!:-(((
IS0B- Bands and weather were very hot
IV3/IK2AIT- ANTENNA 10 M DIPOLE HANGING FROM WINDOW.
STATIONS SIMPLY DIDNT HEAR ME.
IV3YNB- THIS HAS BEEN MY VERY FIRST CONTEST AND ITS BEEN EXCITING
EVEN IF I HAD TO FACE MANY UNEXPECTED TROUBLES.

contest. Thank you to everybody. Max IW3ILM/QRP
IZ0CEZ- I like the option to participate 12-hrs only, as I dont have all the weekend for the contest. This is my 2nd IOTA test and improved my last (poor) performance. Thats the important...
IZ1DGG- POWER 4,7 W
A LITTLE PERIOD AT MY DISPOSAL
GOOD ACTIVITY ON UPPER BANS ALSO
IZ3NVR- Thanks for the nice contest...QRP is really difficult 7
3 Stefano IZ3NVR
IZ4JMA- I was supposed to be SOSSB as last year….
At the very last moment Alex IZ4AMS with Bob IK4XCL and later Alessio IZ4EFN jumped in, so we decided to be M/S !
I was very excited to operate under my callsign as a m/s for the very first time..
During the first couple of hours everything went fine, but Murphy was waiting right in the corner…
Don’t want to bore you, but everything could be broken, it did !
We ended up without the second PA, the second radio and even the voice recorder….
Using just the RUN station it suddenly turned to be a SOAB instead a m/s, nevertheless we enjoyed the contest atmosphere an had the usual fun…
I want to thank everybody at ARI Modena - Northern Italy DX Team for letting me operate once again one my favourite contest !
See u next year, for a even better effort !
Max IZ4JMA
IZ5FSA- Propagation missed, but Ive enjoyed CQing and IOTA hunting.
IZ5MOQ- funny focusing on 40 mt. with my OB12-4 IC756PROIII
IZ8FSL- Not good propagation many eu poor all continent
JA1BJI- At the first night, I enjoyed many EU QSO on 20m band.
JA1BPA- The propagation was bad on 15mb and 10mb, but 20mb opened nicely during the night.
The highlight was working with Yuri, N3QQ/P, CR3R and A43SI.
JA1FO- TS-690S
2ele Butterfly Beam
Band codx were poor and only limited areas of Asia and
Oceania were heard. Used SDI as logging program.

JA3AOP- We pleased QSOs in the contest, hope more better propagation
condition in next year.
JA7COI- This is my first participation to this contest.
JA8AJE- The propagation to EU seemed to be good during first 30 min but for other period it got worse.
JG1GCO- I enjoyed the contest.
JK1LUY- I enjoyed the contest.
K0LDS- I think Im just a check-log. Pretty challenging with 4-5 watts into a vertical, as my regular rig needed repair. My rig was a SGC 2020.
Lots of fun though. Thanks for the opportunity!
K3TN- TS 850 to a Windom at 15m.
Lousy conditions but a fun test. I worked a lot of IOTAs in the days prior to the contest that I never heard during my limited operating time. Hard to explain the rules to my XYL, however: No, Rhode Island doesnt count. Yes, Australia does count
K3WW- Sorry not much time this year.
K4DJ- Contest was fun. Conditions were not very good here.
K4EU- Local summer storms/QRN made the bands especially difficult.... Thanks for the Qs.... 73.....//Steve K4EU
K7ABV- fun contest, only a few hours to play radio this weekend..thanks for the contacts..
K7ACZ- Where were all the JAs? First contest ever (except 160 mtrs) without
a JA in the log. No Asia or OC contacts (except for a strong ZL VK)
heard except for Cyprus which is located more in Europe as opposed to
the rest of Asia. Being in Western USA I usually have many JA, BY, BV,
DU, VR, 9M, HL, E5, V7, T3, KH2 etc, in the log. This time only one KH2.
My main purpose for entering this contest is to add to my IOTA count.
This time I gained six new IOTAs, hope they all QSL.
I just hope someday the IOTA people will send card checkers to major
conventions. I have over 300 IOTAs confirmed but none of my cards have ever been checked and entered into my records.
K7IA- Thanks to all the ops who ignored the QRN, QSB, polar absorbption and every other excuse for quitting! Special gratitude for those ops who activated islands, large or small, for the rest of us who only dream of water!
73,
Dan Murphy (New Mexico)
K8CQ- Noise level on 20m here S9 most of time, but gave out NA-058 multiplier as best I could.
Low inv L and flag pole ants used on 15m/20m. 40m used the inv L. Surprised to work VK6 and JA.
KA8NJW- POOR BAND activity this year.
KC8IMB- My first IOTA contest. Had fun, but QRP is nearly suicide at this point in the
cycle!
73!
-Zack KC8IMB
KD7H/7- Yaesu FT-897D with built-in FP-30 power supply
Cushcraft MA6V (for 20, 15, 10 meters) and a Buddipole (40m)
I enjoyed my mini-dxpedition, but, although I tried CQs,
nothing was heard on 15 or 10. Twenty was, definitely, the best band. For better results on 40, I will use a vertical next time. I was glad my wife chose to come along since, as always, she was wonderful company! SDI certainly made logging easy. I am already planning another IOTA operation. By the way, I was surprised not to hear any other NA-065 stations. However, I was thrilled to hear a very loud N3QQ/p on NA-169, and I was pleased to work him on two bands.
Cheers, Rob KD7H
KE3D- CONDX WERE POOR WITH A LOT OF QSB ON 20. I COULD HEAR MORE EU THAN I COULD WORK. THANKS TO THE CHAPS WITH GOOD EARS! 40 MTR WAS BETTER BUT THE QRN MADE COPY DIFFICULT.
KE5ORW- IC-706MKIIG
G5RV (80-20) Double Bazooka (15 and 10)
I enjoyed the Contest SDI made first contest great.
Couldnt have gone so fast without SDI Thanks
KE5QDA- Pleased to see the excellent expedition activity this year.
KE6GFI- Still fun to see what one can hear with a modest station, KE6GFI
KI4FW- Whew -- 20m condx were really dismal on the central east coast of the US. I heard overseas stations for only a few seconds, and then they were gone. 40m seemed more stable, but long-distance low band QSOs are difficult for QRP and a dipole. I look forward to this contest each year, and its sad when the condx in my local dont meet up to others that I hear logging QSOs in the thousands.
KI4PPI- Yaseu FT-450
Alpha Delta DX-CC
Great contest and everyone was professional and frendly
SDI was exstreamly helpful a little time to figure out
but a good program and very useful.

ALL FUN ONCE I FIGURED OUT THE SDI LOG OPERATIONS/THANK
KJ8O- Just installed a 5BTV antenna the day before. Sure enjoyed this QSO Party.
KN7D- I normally work contests to find new DXCC and IOTA entities. This is the first ever IOTA contest that Ive submitted a log for. I worked a couple of European stations for which I had to crank up the linear to be heard. I guess that means Im a high-power entry. The contest was fun. it was also enjoyable to write the software to create a Cabrillo file from my logging program.
Do you have a rookie category?
KX7L- Just had time for a quick stab at the contest. Conditions seemed pretty feeble on 20 for most of the day.
LA3SG- I spent 2 hours in the contest and 12 hours improving my station control program.
LA6BNA- Just a few qsos for the fun of it.
LA6IHA- It was fun, see you next year.
Hope for better conds...
LA7XK- Participated only part of the time

RSGB Thank you
M0CFW- It was quite tough and I need to be very patient. For that reason I assembled
softrock radio and I monitored entire band with CW skimmer, excellent!
M0SKI- A just-for-fun entry using the shack of the Cambridge University Wireless Society. I enjoyed myself and may even consider a more serious run next year!
M0TEF- It was a great chance to test out the station and give out some points. There were a few teething problems with RF in the shack despite previous tests. There were plenty of things found to improve upon for future contests. Overall a good excuse to play radio and have some fun.
M0VKY- FT1000MP

M1KTA- FT817 and HB linear c80W.
Vertical 6BTV.
Fun contest. 10m was busy at times maybe a beam on 10m next year?, and made sure didnt miss easy IOTA multipliers.
Thought antenna was fine but a 43 report just before the off on 80m was not what I wanted to hear but too late to fix it. As always Sunday morning lots of fresh new calls on the air.
M2W- We had great fun in this contest. The Pro57B and its 40M addon worked
a treat ! Was great to also QSO with some old friends during the
contest !!
M3ENF- 2nd year of entering IOTA, had so much fun - worked a lot of new islands for me! Congrats to all the operators! Roll on 2010.
M3JFM- My main objective was to improve on the previous years score, using it to encourage me to sit in the shack for the whole 12 hours.
The first couple of hours was hard going due to the large pileups and people running QRO, this made SP hard going but as the hours passed the pile ups reduced and contacts became easier.
Pleased to see good openings on 15m and 10m and only wish that I would put up a better antenna for 80m so that I can take advantage of making more QSOs on that band, over all the best band was 40m.
I was surprised to discover while operating the number of G stations which did not know their IOTA number let alone think they lived on an island.
Look forward to next years contest.
Equipment: Yaesu FT-950, 80m Windom 15m Dipole and Win-Test.
M3W- A great contest that appears to be growing in popularity. This was my
first opportunity to use a short contest call for IOTA. My target was
to reach 1000 Qs and also to exceed 1,000,000 points. I am
convinced that the shorter callsign helped with this. Again
I was operating from my home, which is in a conservation area
- this means that the potential for aerials is limited. As in previous
years, I found it hard to work all the local UK island multipliers -
probably because the natural action for all stations is to concentrate
on the bands that are open for dx - rather than for local contacts.
10m was quite good on Saturday but both 15m and 10m were a bit less
lively than last year. I found 20m more productive than previous
years. Thanks to all for the QSOs.
M4U- FT2000

M7A- thanks for another great contest. low power this year with just ft990 powered from car. big thanks to all stations worked and our club for support.
rig: ft990ac/dc 100w
ant: 20m and 40m verticals
average conditions, but lots of fun. only 20hr this year as were asked to leave the beach on sunday morning.
will be back next year with antennas for 80 15 and 10.
M8C- We all missed our trip in 2008, so returned this year but it is hard to compete when all the gear has to fit in one car, which is lifted into the hold of the ship. Still we had fun, passed 3k QSOs and worked as hard on the mults as possible. Outside the contest, team members handed out EU011 to as many of the deserving as we could.
M8Y- FT-897 IC756 TS-570

I really enjoyed the contest my only small complaint is
the usual delay waiting for some stations to give their
call. Most of them give it every time but a few do not
several minutes can pass before finding you have a dupe
MM0Q- An abslute disaster! Whatever could go wrong did go wrong, from genny
to storms to injuries to blown away tent and broken masts, not my best year!
However will be back next year, maybe not from a tent and running low
power to wire antennas which was a dead loss this year. No way to
establish a run frequency with low power and this will only get more
difficult as band conditions improve. Sadly may be time to go QRO and move south, just to be heard......
MM1M- Some problems with our 40ft mast prevented us from using a TH3 at 40ft
and we settled for a YP3 beam in a bag at 28ft probably wise as we
were hit by a force 8 gale on Saturday night! Good band conditions
though and 15 and 10m were lively into europe most of the day on
Saturday and Sunday shame we had no beam for those bands in the air.
Wintest was the log of choice and was very good
as usual. Rig was Ft2000 and Expert 1K-FA amplifier only one station this year. Antennas YP3 for
20 and dipoles for 80,40,15 and 10.
MM3T- Elecraft K2 / Icom 7200 100w to 80M EFHW and 40M EFHW antennas. Band
condx during contest were generally poor. WX was fine for the contest
but closed in rapidly on Sunday afternoon with high winds. First
attempt at 2 op, inter-station interference despite coaxial stubs.
Network packed in due to RFI. Laptop failure on Sunday morning. Murphy
definately paid us a visit this year. Thanks to all who worked us.

MW1MDH- Reasonably good entry - last couple havent been all that good!
got some good contacts
Used:Icom-7400, Hustler 5-BTV, Heil Proset - 100w on 40m upwards
(50/60w on 80m)
MW9W- Started as a serious activation to enter the contest but with an hour
to go we had a network failure and could not get the logs/computers to
talk to each other. So as a team the Strumble Head DX and Contest team
made the decision to submit a check log.Operating from Ramsey Island EU-124.
N0ODK- Had fun with this contest. Got about 16 new IOTAs.
N2US/P- FT857D
Hustler mobile mast and resonators
Band conditions were poor. WX was hot and humid.
Decided to QRT after 7 hours. SDI worked well.
N3QQ/P- Had to stop early, medical emergency. Will try agn in the future. 73 from Yuri N3QQ and Johnny KE7V (6m part of operation)
N3RS- This was a part time effort, but I enjoyed the competition very much. If all goes well, Ill be back next year and try to put in the full 24 hours. It gets a bit more difficult with each passing year, but I can try. The LF bands were very noisy, as we had local thunderstorms most of the evening on Saturday.
N3RW- Ten-Tec OMNI 6; Ten-Tec Centurian amplifier;
MOSLEY TA-54XL (20 M); PHASED VERTICALS (40 M)
band condx noisey on 20m but less so on 40m
First time user of SDI; very pleased
N4DTF- Only worked a couple of hours, but what a great contest for DX. Austria to Australia and many in between! Approaching storms forced me to shut down early.
N4FY- Great contest, loads of fun!!!
N4PN- MEETING ON SATURDAY MORNING - SO ONLY 12 HOUR VERSION THIS
YEAR...LOTS OF FUN AS ALWAYS...SURPRISE CALL WAS FROM OD5NJ.
THANKS TO RSGB AND ALL WHO SPONSOR AND PARTICIPATE.
N4YLC- had a blast!
N5HMH- yeasu ft 450 at
80 mtr wire dipole hustler 4 btv
enjoyed it cannot wait till next year
N7XY- After six QSOs, my rig started drawing excessive current so I had to quit!
N9BX- It was aplease to work three new IOTAs and 10 more that I never received QSL cards from. I sure hope that everyone submittes Logs as this is a great way to get credit for an IOTA operation.
Bruce Osterberg N9BX IOTA checkpoint 7, 8, 9, and 0 USA.
NC4MI- My first time in the IOTA contest. I have found a neat
contest to really get into and a good way to build
up the DX total. Thanks to everyone.
NG7Z- Well, taking time for the contest was challenging. My XYL has be suggesting that I paint the barn for a couple of years. So guess which activity took priority? Im lucky I got 4 hours in. Summer is the only time I have to work outside so anything related to that gets priority. From what I could hear, and that isnt much, the bands, at least here in WA state, were funky at best. My best luck was on 40M. I missed most of the daytime operating on 20M but got on for a two hours late in the afternoon. My log shows no AS mults which is surprising for us in the the PNW. Did pick up NZ and HI though plus some scattered NA mults. Beat last years total. We need sunspots.

Fair to poor condx at my QTH. There were no openings
on 10m or 15m and the same on 80m and 160m. I still
enjoyed the test. Maybe better condx next year.
NP3CW- Propagation not good to my area.
No station heard from IOTA in Asia, Africa or Oceania.
Most active band were 20 meters and 10 meters.
Good luck to all.

NP3CW
NP3D/W2- I love IOTA Contest!
Must say that the web page is outstanding and
the rules are nice for everyone.
This is a special Contest, unlike others (also nice
though) but the rules are motivating folks to leave
their houses and travel to some islands, not
neccessarily DXCC Countries.
God Bless and Long Live IOTA!
73s Andrei NP3D-EW1AR
NP3HM- My first participation on this contest.
Hope for better conditions next year.
NS6T- I didnt work as many islands as I expected, but it was still a lot of fun.
OE2VEL- First time to really use my MK2R+ for serious SO2R. Great experience, although the operator has still to learn a lot. Thanks to HA1DAE for advising me, that Radio 1 is not doing what it should. Had a great time and hope that I broke my own record from last year.
OE6IMD- Hi, thanks for two new ones...see you next year! 73, Michael OE6IMD
OE7/IZ4MJP- Station OE7/IZ4MJP operated from St. Jackob I.D., Austria, at 2.350 Mt above sea level. Locator JN66EV. Icom 703 Plus and Mp1 SuperAntenna. Some contact just to set up my QRP station.
OF200AD- Second serious attempt from the QTH of OH5TS in Kuorsalo resulted a bit lower scores
OH/G4FSU- Learnt my lesson from last year that multipliers are everything, so
mainly an SP actiivity for this single op 12hr unassisted entry.
Conditions from lattitude 60N in summer were poor with only marginal

First time to use SDI. All in all a really well-suited

SX8M- We had lots of problems to put the antennas up because we had very strong winds. Finally, we finished the antennas 15 min after 12.00 GMT and we had to stay awake for the next 24 hours!
SX8R- Nice contest and good activity...73s to all !
SX8Z- Great fun. Kythira is a very nice island. We had just a small 5m vertical tuned with external tuner. Tnx to all for calling us

TF3AO/4- Operated from a camping site in Dyrafjordur, Westernfjords of Iceland. Limited time

fun was to give out EU021.

TK2Y- K3 + tribander and dipoles + HL2K
Second participation to the IOTA contest, and first one from an Island.
This 24h contest is definitly a good opportunity to have lots of fun!
Conditions were rather good on all bands and especially excellent on Sunday
TM7C- We had again another fantastic week-end with our host Bernard/F9IE and his wife
on Noirmoutier Island.
Propagation on 10 15 did not allow us to work UK stations, hence a lower
score despite a higher number of QSO and multipliers than last year.

Lousy condx most of the time and good weather outside
do not a good contest make. We must hope for better
next year.
As usual SDI was flawless in its performance
VE1RGB- This was the first time in many years that I have operated IOTA from home. Usually Im on an island (e.g.,VC2W) and an operator in a much bigger dxpedition and looking for volume. A much more enjoyable experience for me from home! (Well, cheaper and easier anyway). My best antenna for this one was a non-resonant 80M dipole at 75 feet, supplemented by a BigIR MK I and a full-size 160M vertical loop used multi-band as well. Plus K3 095.
VE1TRI/P- I was the only operator on NA-127 from the middle of Long Island which is the second island in the Digby neck chain. I used an OCF dipole for my operation with occasional switching to a 20 meter Cushcraft vertical.
The location was called central grove at Ruggles cottage est 1830.
VE3GSI- Great contest.
VE3VHB- 1kW
3El. Tribander
Conditions were the worst Ive ever encountered in the
IOTA contest! Nothing heard from the Far East at all;
20M was extremely noisy here. At least got two needed
ones EU-043 and NA-129. Used SDI in POST mode as
usual with few problems.
VK6DXI- Nice to be back in IOTA contest.
VK7ZE- First time entry and really enjoyed the contest.
Shame the report from an Island station is so long winded though, any chance of dropping the serial number from the report from an Island Station?
CU next year.

Butternut HF9V multiband vertical (ground mounted)
This was my first IOTA contest and I had a great time.
I had no luck breaking into Europe of 40m only made 2

vertical - hi.Will be back next year for sure. My yagi
tower arrive soon so next year should be more fun!
VK9IR- VK9IR was the single transmitter multi-operator IOTA entry for the VK9NI 2009 Dxpedition.
Our understanding of the rules is that we could not enter a Multi operator, Multi transmitter entry.
The four member operating team was supported by VK2RF, VK3FY, VK3FGRC and VK3FT
VP2V/OK1DRX- Nice holidays in British Virgin Islands and IOTA contest from outside Europe. Great! Wheather over 35C outside and over 40C in hamshack is not for contesting but for sauna enthusiasts. So I ended before timeout. RIG had over 100C.

W4T- It was a great pleasure for QCWA Chapter 119 to sponsor this expedition and IOTA Contest activation as one of the special events carried out during the Chapters 30th Anniversary year. A first time ever event for Chapter 119, we exceeded our planned Fun Quotient by orders of magnitude. A hearty THANK YOU to the W4T Team and special thanks to all who worked us and thanks for your moral support.
W8GXT- My first IOTA and had some fun ! Hopefully the
