SoapBox
2E0CPT- First time IOTA contester.
2E0HTS- 146 qsos for my first IOTA Contest, not bad! Thanks to all and I hope to do better next time!
2E0WAW- Quite slow during the day on 20m but 40m/80m got interesting after about 0100hrs.
Difficult making myself heard with my 50 watts.
4O1OTA- Enjoyed providing rare IOTA reference EU-163 for all.
4S7NI- Happy to participate the contest.
4X0A- CONDITIONS WAS EXTREMLY POOR IN OUR COUNTRY DURING THE CONTEST
5B4AHJ- Just dabbling this year, looking for new IOTAs. 10 new ones worked.
5B4AIF- I have never heard so many qrmers
I was disappointed not to get some of the weaker stations
Thanks to all those in the log and see you all next year
Norman
7N2UQC- I was able to enjoy this contest.Tnx for a fine contest again.
8S0C- IOTA contest is a very fun contest with a lot of islands activated. Hope to be back next year from an island.
9A/E71DX- Big fun, thanks all for the few QSO-s
9A1CKL- Mr.Murphy was very persistent. Too much problems in first 8 hours of the contest. We had problems with generator, batteries, QRM on 15 40 from laptop power supply.
Strong winds outside up to 150 km/h. Very difficult band conditions but we managed 1000 QSOs and 322 mults. CU next year!
9A3B- All my QSOs are with IOTA stations using only SP technique......
Unfortunately I was limited in free time so I managed to work only 10 hours.
9A3W/P- Bad propagations and lots of trouble with equipment this year. Maybe next year will be better :-)
9A4AA- Work on 20m, didnt made many qsos but worked few great dx stations, see you in iota next year...73
9M6BOB- Im glad as a new contester finding this IOTA contest log submission is easy to understand as well as all the rules and regulation. Thanks
9M6BRC- Operated from the Borneo Amateur Radio Club (BARC) Bukit Sierra Clubhouse
9M6DXX- Still very little IOTA contest activity in the
south-east Asia region.
A65CA- THANKS FOR NEW IOTAS AND FUN! MY FIRST ATTEMPT TO GET HEARD IN IOTA TEST!
AA4V- well done to the committee for another GREAT IOTA contest!! Cant wait until 10 and 15 wake up.
AD5WB- As always, great fun. Thanks to all for their patience as I tried to dig their call signs out of the noise on my vertical.
AG0A- First contest, prop leaved a lot to be desired but had fun.
AJ4FM- First time to work this contest. Had a great time and was surprised to see 20M open to ZL @ 0200Z. Worked 2 new CW entities, which made it even more rewarding. Thanks to all....David AJ4FM
AO1B- Sorry 10 meters closed and little islands in contest
Until next IOTA 2011
AO4ZK- Tnx fer a new year, this one I dosnt have time enough... so I only made 4 hours..... Good luck to all!!!
AP2NK- Conditions were not good
No propagation on 40/80M during dark hours
Hopefully may get better conditions during coming year
Enjoyed using SDI as it is very easy to operate
BY4DX/5- Enjoyed our contest and pile up on island
CR5M- Bad to poor propagation.
Many thanks, better year after year.
CR6W- This was our first participation into an IOTA contest in the category 100 watt hf and antenna limitation to one element per band. The team enjoyed very much the contest and the location inside the INSUA fortress. We will be back on INSUA soon!
CT1EGF- My first participation in this fine contest. Worked some new ones. I will repeat it again next year. Thank you very much.
CT2GSN- CONGRATULATIONS FOR THIS ACTIVITI TKS ALL STATIONS CALL TO ME 73 CT2GSN JONH CUNHA
CU2/DF2BR- Nice holiday trip to Azores, Sao Miguel, including IOTA Contest on the weekend.
DC9ZP- My Impression:
The IOTA-Contest is just like champagne,
fine lubricating heart and brain.
Vy 73 de Manfred, DC9ZP
DF2LH- only a few contacts, just testing my equipment.
DG5LAC- I enjoyed the Germany Formula 1 race at the same time in Hockenheim. So I have only a few Islands worked via remote from the Hotel. Thanks to all Stations who spend ears to me. 73 de Mic DG5LAC
DH2URF- Hello oms. Thanks for Log Activation Page. All best. Richard.
DJ3GE- QRP 5 Watt from FT817 via tuner Z11 to off-center-fed dipole 21m long Allways a big fun to see what QRP makes possible in short time available. Thanks to the organizer and the stations who were able to copy my weak signal.
DJ3WE- Its been a pleasure to hand out some points to the serious contesters participating in this fine contest. Enjoyed my six hours of participation. Many thanks to those who have organized the event and those who are checking the logs.
DJ6QT- I gess next year I will start in assisted its easier to get the mults.
DK0MM- Our first contest with a new team.
DK3KD- Ich habe nur 12 h teilgenommen , hat wie immer viel Spass gemacht und freue mich schon auf das naechste Jahr .
DK8NT- Nice activity - but amazing how many of the announced (and badly desired) islands I didnt even hear with my optimized 6-band single-elementer (read folded windom). ---- Although Im a cluster aficionado, I (again) deliberately worked this contest unassisted (as long as this class exists...), because with my LP signal I need to wait anyway until the pileup on new entries has died away. Its a bit
frustrating to have to call over 30 times to get heard in OY - but then the jOY is even bigger ;-) ---- Incidentally, the Championship-worthy QRQ of some cracks is a burden for us average contesters who need to listen to their CQ calls a dozen times until weve identified the callsign - and as the speed goes up, it can even turn into a loss for the cracks, if their CQ calls are heard but remain unanswered because the decryption computers are still busy...
And the QRQ champions keying was so distorted that it was impossible to guess the transmitted number, even in very slow playback mode. A lost QSO. ---- By the way: THANKS to the many good souls who invested time and money to activate all those rocks! (And who are now doomed to sending QSL cards ;-))
DK8OL- because of health problems I could only participate
a very limited time no chance for a high score this
time but it was fun anyway! CU next year on full speed
DL1ASA- nice contest, poor conditions on 10m, see you next year
DL2KDW- Again fine contest, cu all next time!
DL4FDM- Tnx for the nice contest and cua in 2011
DL4JWU- Worked from my garden 10mtrs was very poor 15 mtrs
opened on Sunday but nevertheless had much fun
DL5KUD- Many thanks for a very nice contest again, excellent support, good participation of nice ops - but very
poor conds with high noise and heavy fading on saturday. CU AGN 2011 at fair conditions. 73 JO
DL7AOS- Operated a few hours testing the new allband vertical (12m high fiberglas pole with automatic tuner at the base).
DL7VRG- Nice contest, hope to meet you again next year ! 73 de Matt !
DL8TG- Great to participate on this well organiced contest, thanks therefore and thanks to the island activities.
DL8ZAJ- No Condx on Saturday nothing on 15 or 10 meters. but improving on Sunday.
DM1TT- Owing to some family activities I was doing only search and pounce this time. Nevertheless, IOTA is turning to one of my favorite contests: enough of activity, well managed, certificates arrive timely, the qsos contribute towards IOTA Awards, even luxorious 12-hour classes provided! Could one ask for more?
DM4DX- Just for a couple of hours during the weekend. Got some nice new Islands.
DM5RS/P- Nice contest, see you next year!
DQ4W- Unfortunately conDX didnt meet expectations. Hence, score is a little bit down compared to last year. Good fun and great activity anyway. Many thanks to all operators who travelled and activated islands and congratulations to OE3K.
DS0DX/2- Mainly operated on 20 meters and found conditions to be a lot better this year than in the past several!
EA1GFP- My first time in this contest. A lot IOTA stations. Next year i will tray make full (24H) contest. Good luck de EA1GFP. Marco.
EA2DCF- THIS IS ONE OF THE GREATEST CONTEST!!!!
EA2WD- EXCELLENT PARTICIPATION THIS YEAR.
EA3OR- Thanks for the good contest. It's my first iota contest. I very much had fun.
EA4EUW- great contest
EA4KD- Somebody turn off the 10 meters propagation.
EA6/DL7UMK- Only few QSOs in QRP for fun, to give some points to good ears. Tnx all the stations, which heard me.
EA8BQM- Great Contest as usual, it was funny/learning and best wishes All! pd. traffic QSLs stopped for a while, come back running soon, patient Thanks, 73 de Toni EA8BQM
EA8DP- Many stations, poor propagation. Regards to all teams.
EG2HLP- We were celebrating the friendship between Lerin (Spain) And Pompignac (France) we used this special call for the event and spent some hours on the IOTA Contest. It was a very interesting saturday night and Sunday morning.
EI/SQ7JT- I transmit only couple of hours, because I had problem with the generator.
EI4DJB- nothing on 10m some on 15m
conditions did not lend to qso with as many iota stns
seemed to be less range of iota stations heard
Recommended log program no longer freeware
EI5DI- Please consider dropping the 59(9) from the exchange, as it is unnecessarily long for Island stations.
EI7JZ- Its quite difficult with 100W and a vertical antenna, I heard much more than I was able to work.
EI8FH- Friends over for dinner Saturday and work on Sunday
left very little time to operate in this most enjoyable
contest.SD logging program worked really well.
EI8JB- I had a great time I would like to try this again
I found SD easy to use
EJ4II- After winning last year the IOTA contest in fixed island category with EI/ON4EI, I called Bernard EI4II in April to propose him to activate the Great Saltee Island EU-103, one of the most wanted island in Europe. We faced huge pile-ups as we never experienced. During the expedition and the contest the weather was lovely and we also suffered from sun burn (no cream and hat..).
A wonderful experience but very physical, we had to transport almost 250 Kg of equipment on 500 m distance and 40 meters elevation.
This was a duo expedition Bernard EI4II and myself Olivier EI8GQB/ON4EI.
See you next year !
ES5TF- Very nice contest, Id suggest to everyone :-)
F4FVI- Its my first contest!
F5VKT- Condx and QSO totals werent as good as last year and I didnt get the long runs of UK island stations on 15m that I got last year. Nothing on 10m. 15 m generally poor but 40m was good Sunday morning when I was called by a couple of VKs and a ZL.
FO8RZ- A very good moment. My last IOTA contest was on Re island in 1998. Best 73 from Tahiti
Phil
G0CER- The vertical never turned out to be good on the low bands and 28mhz useless for me. Great contest - ill be back next year. Dave
G0FPU- First time IOTA . Only made a few contacts
Will try harder next year 2011
SD used.Very easy to use
G0IBN- An enjoyable but tiring 12hours. ZL ok but did not hear any VK. Hopefully my score is a little better than last year
G0IVZ- Nice to be back in IOTA after a long lay off. Great contest
G0MTN- Very part time this year, due to Uncles 70th birthday party on Saturday.
G0ORH- Here band condx were dreadful with very deep sweeping, rolling QSB, copy was very bad throughout the weekend so not good for the overall score with a few busted calls/serial numbers etc..Not good but had some fun.
G0PBV- Most of the activity seemd to be on 20m and 40m however
conditons overall appeared better than 2009
Once again enjoyed using SDI!
G0VOK- Great Fun but wished I'd had more free time to make a
decent effort in the contest. Thank RSGB.
G0W- Went assisted, but for what it was worth should have gone non-assisted. When I went too a spot there was nothing there. Long skip/short skip all in the wrong places for me.
Still great fun was had.
G0WAT- A bit of a lackadaisical effort Im afraid...just trying out WinTest with DX cluster access because I have never used it for IOTA as a single op....very debatable whether it made much difference...with QRP you dont have the wherewithall to get Mults quickly and with IOTA there is always another around the corner...band condx seemed odd to me but it could just be the bent rusty nail I used for an antenna....overall pleased....Would like to be back next year from somewhere a bit more desirable than EU005! Equipment used FT1000MP with 5w to end fed 66ft bit of wire at about 20ft...jealous arent you!... 73 Paul G0WAt
G0WWD- PLENTY OF ACTIVITY ON 20M AND 40M BANDS
This is a very good logging program
G1N- G1N gets its first airing. Putting up and taking down LF dipoles as I changed bands was not ideal - a single band option would be nice. Must get a beam for the higher bands next year.
G1OCN- Work and other committments over the weekend reduced the available time on the radio. I really enjoyed this contest. It was quite tense to get the last few contacts in to try and reach the grand total of 101 QSOs. I did try to convert to a CABRILLO file, but MIXW would not convert the file from ADIF due to certain characters in amongst the text. I tried the EI software too. No joy with that either as it did not show the other stations IOTA NUMBER in the file.
G2B- Good weekend chance to let some of the new members work
some dx and give them an insight to contesting
we where working under field day conditons
G3CO- Demo station at Colchester Radio Amateurs Club Radio Rally, St Helena School, Sheepen Road, Colchester.
G3GLL- Poor HF conditions and high local noise levels
G3LHJ- Condx pretty grim. quite a struggle on HF but good
LF Bands, enjoyable as ever - hope we have some Sun
Spots soon. CU next year god willing,
73 de Derrick G3LHJ
G3PJT- Seemingly both 9A/OM8A and 9A/OM8AA being active was a trap for the unwary of autofill loggers! Conditions disappointing esp. 10m!
G3RFH- First time Ive entered IOTA contest. Found plenty of
activity but a lot of stations failing to identify
themselves - waited nearly 20 minutes for one station
to send his callsign.Found it hard going with 100w so
the QRP stations must find it really hard work.
G3RLE- I WAS EXPECTING TO SUPPORT THE STATIONS THAT HAD MADE THE EFFORT TO ACTIVATE ISLANDS BUT THE BANDS SEEMED TO BE DOMINATED BY EUROPEAN STATIONS CALLING CQ AND WORKING EACH OTHER. IT WAS SOUL DESTROYING TRYING TO FIND THE WEAKER IOTAS UNDERNEATH THESE STATION SO DECIDED TO DO SOMETHING ELSE. PERHAPS A SOLUTION, TO MAKE THE ISLAND STATIONS MORE VISIBLE, MIGHT BE TO ALLOCATE DIFFERENT PORTIONS OF THE BAND TO ISLAND AND NON-ISLAND STATIONS?
G3RWL- RSGB should now stop promoting SD because its now a commercial product that folks have to pay for. Anyone downloading it for this IOTA would have had a nasty shock with its demo mode (only 30 QSOs)
G3TKK- Not able to devote much time to the Contest this year so used the oportunity to add Island contacts not already credited via the contest route
G3TTC- I found it very difficult to find the rules anywhere.
G3TXF- Part-time entry. Several hours on 80m during the night, and then a few hours on 20m/15m during the last few hours of the contest. Conditions on HF sounded pretty ropey, although a couple of JAs were worked on 20m.
G3UEG- The station was operated remotely, so am barred from making a proper entry. All the tx/rx equipment was within 500m radius, only the operators were effectively at the end of long mic, key and headphone leads.. I think we were at a disadvantage, rather than gaining any advantage!!!
G3VMY- No 10m again and not much on 15m
Usual local tv qrm at s6-9
G3VYI- Poor condx on 10/15 i think
First time tried to enter semi seriously!
More time next year!
Some good iota stations in the weak stuff!
G3WFK- My first attempt at an HF contest. Found it extremely
interesting. Worked countries I never expected to.
SDI was excellent every bit as good as SDV.
Will I achieve my 100 qsos plus twenty multipliers?
If only the contest chairman knew the work he caused.
G3WRR- Just a few QSOs to show willing!
G3YMC- Conditions truly awful, never heard them so poor.
I nearly gave up several times and often went and did other things. So this entry is way lower than I expected.
Hope things improve for next year.
73 Dave G3YMC
G3YNN- Not too serious entry, just a bit of fun to show new members what can be worked if you try!
G4ARI- This is my first venture in this contest.
I hope to be able to make a more serious entry next yr
G4DBW- Only a token entry this year due to family commitments
G4DDL- Poor conditions Saturday but better Sunday
with 10/15m finally opening for a short while
Need to sort out better antennas for next year.
Some good DX about but big pile-ups on the rarer IOTAs
Lots of fun and met lots of old friends
G4EOF/P- First time I have taken part in this contest, enjoyed it very much learnt a lot about strategy and got some ideas for next year. Will make a serious attempt to be on an island next time out with the same setup.
G4OJB- I wish stations calling QRZ would give their call sign more often.
G4RWD- First time Ive ever entered IOTA contest, Im hooked!
G4RYV- Second year entry a few more contacts made this time
Heard many more stations than able to work
Used SDI for logging
G4WGE/P- Bettered the 2009 QSO count by a significant margin but forgot to look for multipliers. Also almost lost the A4S during setup.
G5GX/P- CONDX ON SAT WERE POOR ON 10/15M AND 20M WAS WALL TO
WALL WITH FIXED MAINLAND EU. IF YOU TRYED TO CALL CQ
YOU GOT FLATTERNED BY MOST OF EU - NOT EASY. HOWEVER
ALL ENJOYED THEMSELVES
G6CSY- As last year, running mixed-mode QRP and working island stations only via SP. Some sporadic-E on 10m, but no island stations heard, other than my neighbour M0MCV! 80m sounded like frying bacon, and both 80m and 40m had bad static crashes at times. Even so, managed to beat last years QSO total, and work 4 all-time-new IOTAs.
G6PZ- Thanks to Paul as always for his hospitality and generosity. G6PZ is one of the best contest stations in the UK, and despite patchy conditions, rare IOTA references were logged from every continent bar Antarctica. Having been part of the EJ0GI crew on EU-006 for so many years, learning how to do this contest from EU-005 is an interesting challenge. Not only is one not a rare multiplier, but the largest source of 15 point QSOs on the planet is not available - I have new respect for the guys who have put up big scores from plain old Europe Five over the years. There was a decided lack of Sporadic E which can be seen in the paucity of F and G stations in the log, and 80 was very noisy. But while long skip cut the number of QSOs on 20 and 40, those bands were simply superb for DX, with crushing signals from Japan to Tahiti! IOTA remains one of the best contests of the year.
G6UBM- DX SEEMED VERY SCARCE
ONLY HEARD TWO YB STATIONS AND UNABLE TO BREAK PILEUP
SDI WORKED WELL AS ALWAYS
G8D- Part of the greater plan to get back into mainstream single op all band contesting. Spent a lot of time SPing over the last 18 months or so but no serious run entries. I targeted this one initially for 24 hr SOAB CW but in the end realised that recent emergency eye surgery for
acute retinal detachment was going to be the deciding factor.
Our GU8D multi-op entries 1996 to 2005 helped me understand the contest although I had forgotten how important it is to be aware of the various specific operations and probably more important, the common IOTA references. I guess a vague similarity would be recognising lesser known Commonwealth prefixes in BERU. I do like this event as there are a number of variables to keep you alert. Some prefixes you know arent IOTA - HB9, S5, etc. Some you know are IOTA, G*, EA8, TK, JA etc. Others could be ie DL, PA, OZ etc. You have to listen!
So, started off thinking I was doing 24 hours with a target of averaging 75Q/Hr over 20 hours but soon realised that was not practicable and so planned for 12 hours, but without a suitable band plan strategy!
Consequently whilst my QSO total of 813 was in the ballpark, mults were sadly lacking. I suspect this was due to not factoring in a good SP session on 80/40 overnight.
Highlights - A sprinkling of JAs on20m though nothing like the 15m runs we used to get at GU8D. A nice W6/7/0 run on 20m on late Saturday afternoon. Also eventually on Sunday morning an opening on 15m plus some Qs on 10m!
Lowlights - The Eastern European disease - Stupid speeding up of parts of messages! Bad clix and notes - RZ3AXX, LZ9W, RG3K, HG8N, UU7JC. Lots of dits in 6! Wasnt it nice to turn the beam west! (On the other hand, those countries are keeping contesting alive!) Too many stations sending too fast. Punk band condx on Saturday.
G8XTJ- SDI very helpful to a pen and paper logger like me
Disappointed with conditions on 10 and 15
Great fun searching and pouncing - I might now put in a claim!
Lots of gotaways YB4IR VR2xln on 20 with my low power and wire
G8ZRE- Did not appear as many Islands on the bands.
Enjoyable contest
GI4FUE- Only managed a few hours on Sat night due to work commitments - nice opening to W6 and 7, but very brief
GI4GTY- First go at IOTA as a club though we take part in VHF FD every year so well used to the odd visit from Murphy.
Could not get the cluster working and to much interference from the run station to allow the multi to work very well. However the Chinese carryout was tasty.
GJ6YB- A great contest and a lot of fun as usual.
During the contest we didnt see any sporadic-E on 10m and just picked off whatever we could on the Mult station. 15m was about the same except for some short spells running on Sunday morning. 20m was open till late, but 40m was in excellent shape throughout the night with propagation into North and South America and Pacific VK/ZL. Though conditions were poor on the HF bands the rest of the
bands were lively and the contest seemed well supported.
The weather was kind to us, with just one heavy shower before the contest. A pretty much fault-free operation thanks to a lot of planning before the event.
GM0ADX- QTH - Staffin, Isle of Skye
Brilliant sunshine to start with but driving rain and high winds during the contest. 10m completely dead. This is our highest score ever in the IOTA contest, so the weather didn't dampen our spirits in the slightest.
GM0GMN- Really enjoyed the contest and just a shame there was no 10 metre opening at my QTH. That aside I still managed to make a massive increase on the previous years score.
GM1J- The best contest in the world by far! Much better this year with reasonable weather and no incidents! 10 and 15 were dead up here and 80 was almost unuseable due to QRN. Thankfully 20 and 40 were in good shape. Thanks for all the Qs. Return visit for next year booked before we left the island, CU then.
73 Jim
GM2T- Forget the radio...the 4 hour sail to Tiree gifted us with a host of great sightings -- over 30 basking sharks, dolphins and even a whale jumping. A great sail for anyone interested. Radio wise only technical issue was a broken rotator....so ended up with a 40M dipole instead of a 40M beam. Band conditions were very poor on 15M and 10M and even 80M took a while to get going. Hospitality as normal on the island was second to none and I think the whole team came home 2 stone heavier!!!!!
Another good reason for going to Tiree. Overall a great trip with lots of laughs and great hopitality.
GM3TAL- My first ever IOTA contest. Basic shack here with single band wire antennas and FT840. Delighted to work some new countries as well as lots of islands Id never heard of previously. IOTA certainly improves ones geography!
GM4EMX- East EUs operation plus of 14.300 !
Why not a mid power rateing for SSB UK max 26Dbw? IE some EUs are running a lot more on their licenses, and therefore have an advantage.
I wondered why 15 mtrs was low audio Sunday AM - then relised I did not have my hearing aid in, - Hi
Not much DX !
GM4FAM- Another hugely enjoyable and hectic contest; many thanks to all for the QSOs and especially those who ventured out to Islands
GM4SID- Used the specially updated SD software and it worked
perfectly. Enjoyed the contest many unusual island
stations on the air
GM7V- Great contest, but poor conditions on 15m and 10m reduced our score. Great WX and beautiful wildflowers on the island !
GM7X- Nothing on 10m and 15m this year. Multiplier total down.
GU0TSM- I couldn't get any runs going to so I opted to SP and go sight-seeing on the island. Antennas were a vertical-dipole for 10/15/20 and a vert for 40 80M(top loaded on 80M).
GW6W- Field day style operation from the clubs caravan on the breakwater at Holyhead. Several non-contesting members came to give support and to try their hand in this popular contest.
GW8K- Murphy, came along did his utmost to ruin a good expedition. He blew up our main rig, then killed the generator. Lost lots of time but the great team spirit held good and we had fun. Thats what contesting is Fast action fun. Then to end our computers had clitches sorry for this late log.
HA0HW- Sorry was not more time for me.
HA5BWW- Poor result, my antennas not ready for contest, I cant finish the tuning. Excellent contest, I like it!
HA5LZ- Many thanks for the nice contest!
HA7PL- On first day bad conds here. Lot of stns are can not hear my 500 W/GP. It seems to be there is many bad receivers side. Also lot of QRS station, they do not like the contest style. Other problem I see, some conceited operators
are do not using his call sign after he finished a QSO, only send QRZ? Some time I must wait 5-10 minutes or 5-10 QSOs when I can get his callsign! That is very arrogant, selfish contesting style!
HA8LKM- This is a very nice cw activity on the summer time.
My QRP station an FT-817ND 5 Watts antenna : deltaloop for 40m at 42mH
HB9MXY- tnx fr fine contest! gd conditions on 28 mhz on sunday. see you next year
HB9XCL- Again, one of the best contests of the year! Many thanks to everybody!
I2AZ- IOTA is always a big Contest, unfortunately poor conditions on higher bands 10 and 15 meter, a good job on 20 and 40m, poor conditions also on 80m. i2AZ
I2WIJ- My usual crazy operation from home! I definitely need an island! 73. Bob, I2WIJ
I4JEE- SRI, for shorts QSOs, but no time and no Good Prop.
IC8WIC- Last minute job commitments left me only second part of
the contest. Big QSOs decrease but more mults. Thank to
you all and see you next year
IG9/IK2PZC- Much north wind, with two vertical phased array for 40m. Dipole for 20/15/10 not too hight and worked very badly.....Will be for next time..
IH9YMC- poor propagation, and a strong wind stroke down the antenna
IK0HBN- Great fun, but a hard job with a 10 meter long wire strung between a balcony and a 2 meters high tree!
IN3ADW- Nice every year to participate in this contest. Congratulations to all operators form islands and the IOTA organisers!! Happy to work for the first time for me, Taiwan!! 73 de Nicola
IS0B- IOTA Contest , our best vacation time !
IT9DFI- I HAVE TAKE PART IN THIS CONTEST ONLY FOR FUN...
IT9EJW/P- A particular care was dedicated to the antenna setup; to reach the top of the isle, where a small sea museum full of strange fishes would have been the site of operations, we had to climb up an endless stone ladder, loaded as donkeys and with a temperature higher then 34°, the usual conditions in Sicily at the end of July. Therefore, the decision to take part to the competition as DX-pedition, with 100W only and single-element antennas, was a must. To restrict the load to minimum, we also decided to build up all the antennas by ourselves: an horizontal dipole for 20-15 and 10 mts, 4 monoband ground planes on fishing rods for 40-20-15 and 10 mts and two wire dipoles for 80 and 40 mts; only a commercial multiband trapped antenna was planned to be used, a 40-10 mts UJX antenna.
IV3AOL- Best QSO? VP8LP on 10m with band closed. Thanks Bob!
IW1QN- Im not satisfied becuase Big QRM, surely a Thunderstorm near Italy and also Big Industrial QRM. I make this contest ONLY to Search Multiplier. Propagation wasn t good in Saturday but better in Sunday. IOTA Contest is Always Funny Contest.
IW2NSE- Again in a contest after 2 years of radio silence... Few qsos but ive been happy to be on air. 73
IW3IAU- BEAUTIFUL CONTEST...73 DE IW3IAU
IW3SSA- Ive really enjoied this edition! Unfortunately WX condx in my area not very good and poor propagation on 15 and 10m. Good openings on 80 and 40m with NA. See You at the next edition and many thanks to all IOTA DXpeditions. Best 73s guys! IW3SSA
IW5EIJ/5- Portable style operation from a countryhouse on appennino mountains. IC-7000 and fishing rod antenna + marine ATU.
Lot of fun even with too much agn?? :)
73
Leo
IZ1DGG- GOOD PROPAGATION, BUT ON 7 AND 14 ONLY
IZ2JNN- Very nice contest!
73 de Stefano IZ2JNN
IZ3NVR- Due to problems I could only operate on saturday....thanks to all
Stefano IZ3NVR
JA1BPA- During the first 6 hours, there was a great arctic opening to the U.K. and northern European area. 10mb and 15mb were almost useless, and 40mb was noisy from the static.
JA3AOP- I was to be during the recovery from the medical operation but could enjoy this contest with my new antenna.
JA7COI- We had a low-pressure air mass near here. QRN by thunders were very heavy.
JA8AJE- Like this contest because I am a one of multiplier and get called. TKS nice contest.
JG1INV- That was my first abroad contest!
JI1LET/JD1- In the JD1, a lot of noises had bad propagation.
JK2VOC- Thanks for IOTA Contest. 73! Yoshi.
JO3PSJ/3- I enjoyed the IOTA contest at the nearest operation site from my home. But I had very hard time because my car battery got dead during operation. I had no choice but suspend operation for several hours. But I was very happy to have had QSOs with expedition stations of rare IOTA codes.
JP1EWY- I enjoyed the contest.
JR2AAN/2- I participated at MobileCarShack from Iwakura-city Aichi-pref. Japan. Output power is 10 to 50 watts.
K0AP- IOTA contest is one of my favorite. Best chance to grab new IOTA. It was like that this year too. Worked 15 new IOTAs and had lots of fun chasing them. The highlight was working YE0A who was strong here in the USA but was working mostly EU. Somehow got through the heavy pile up after 2 hours of yelling into the microphone. Bands opened up quite good and there were many stations from all over the world. Looking forward to next year IOTA contest.
73 Dragan K0AP, Z32XX
K0RRP- This was my first IOTA contest. It was very short but it wet my appetite.
K2DBK- This was my 2nd effort in this contest (the first was a very part-time effort as ZF2DK)and I had a blast. There was plenty of activity to keep things interesting, but not so much that a little pistol like me could not have a lot of fun. (In other words, I spent most of my time actually working stations, not TRYING to work stations.) Conditions were not as good as I had hoped, with virtually all of my contacts either being within NA or western EU, and due to local weather conditions it was very tough going later in the evening on 40m. I never heard a peep on 75/80 due to very high atmospheric noise. Thanks again to all the participants and especially those folks who spent a lot of time trying to pull my puny signal out of the noise; you have the patience of a saint!
K2MFY- First time I entered the IOTA contest. Great activity for my few hours of operation. Had loads of fun from my QTH on NA-026.
K2ZR- My first IOTA Contest in quite a while.
From December until May my QTH is Key West, IOTA NA-062
Occasionally I will get the urge to really rough it and head out to Grassy Key in the Dry Tortugas, IOTA NA-079. All provisions in and all provisions out it the motto at the Dry Tortugas.
During the IOTA contest I am most often at my QTH in Niagara County, New York.
This year band conditions were not the best and, patience was occasionlly required for exchange repeats. None-the-less it is a great contest with excellent ops.
BCNU Down The Log!
Best 73,
Dick, K2ZR
K3FIV- Not much time to play so I went hunting for a while and picked up a few new countries! 20 was pretty busy although propagation wasnt very good. 15 was open to the Pacific, with some lonely but strong ZLs and VKs but few takers. Didnt hear any contest activity on 10
but there were quite a few stations ragchewing with 1000+ km. skip.
K3MD- 20 meters open only. Used up time on this band. 40 very noisy.
K3TN- Seemed like I heard a lot more IOTA operations before and after the contest than during but this one is always a lot of fun. I like any contest with a complicated exchange, and never knowing if an IOTA reference will be part of what you have to copy shakes things up nicely.
K7ABV- enjoyed the contest even though didnt spend much time...
K7ACZ- Tnks to G7N for EU007, IF9ZWA for EU054, and VK4HAM for OC142, all new IOTAs for me. First Intl contest Ive worked in 30 years without a single JA in the log. Worked BY, DU, 9M, FO, E51, VK, ZL, KH2, and UA0 all in the Pacific or Asia but no JA.
K8CN- It was fun to jump in for just a short time in the evening -- next year Ive got to find an island nearby to which I can launch a contest expedition!
73, Mike K8CN
K9AIH- This was my first time working this contest.
KA8Q- What an enjoyable contest. Casual operation yielded contacts with many exceptionally capable and friendly operators around the world. My first go at this contest. Next year I intend to be an island station. Kudos to the organizers of this delightful event.
KB1REQ- I operated portable while on vacation with 100 watts and an Outbacker vertical and had a great time. The fact that anyone could work anyone brought much activity to the bands and gave the contest a mini wpx feel. I look forward to operating again next year.
KD3NB- My first contest; I had a blast.
KD7H- Band cond made for a challenge but I did QSO new IOTAs!
My plans to return to Whidbey (NA65) fell through but
it was good to work the contest from home.
Thanks again to EI5DI for a terrific logging program!
All the best to my fellow IOTA enthusiasts. Cheers!
KE4KY- WISHED I WOULD HAVE HAD MORE TIME....FUN CONTEST.
KG4W- FUN EVENT, USED ALL WIRE ANTENNAS CU NEXT TIME
KL7/WA4DOX- I operated IOTA 2010 as KL7/WA4DOX from Oliktok Point, Alaska, near the Prudhoe Bay North Slope Oilfields of northern Alaska. From Oliktok Point it is a 200 foot walk northwards to the Beaufort Sea. The rig used was a Wilderness Sierra QRP transceiver and the antenna used was a center-fed dipole suspended between an abandoned aircraft hangar and a 50-year-old rusty post found in the tundra. Power delivered to the feedpoint of the dipole was 1 Watt. The operating position was from the drivers seat of a pick-up truck parked near the antenna. The Mains used to operate the rig was one 12Vdc 7Ah Sealed Lead Acid Battery.
Total contacts: 12
Total points: 540
Total operating time: 4 hours
Total IOTA stations contacted: 6
Total IOTA References: 5
Best DX: ZL1ALZ at 7,926 miles
Rarest DX: TX5TES on Tatakoto Atoll, French Polynesia
Best IOTA Station: KL7RRC/P NA-235 Chirikof Island, Alaska
KL7RRC/P- Hi Gang, We debated to operate in contest or not all morning, equipment did not cooperated, but we did the best we could. Tnx to UA9OBA for convincing other Ops to work IOTA contest from A to Z. 73 and CU from IOTA new-ones! KL7RRC/P team Merle K5MT, Alex RW3RN, Yuri N3QQ, Yuri UA9OBA
KU8E- I was amazed how well I got out using just mobile antennas. Maybe just the magic of being near salt walter. The run on 20 meters CW on Saturday afternoon to EU was unreal !
KX7L- Pretty rotten condx, even for these times. Felt like I was running QRP at times when even stateside stations were asking for fills on 20 mid-day. Sill, a fun format.
LA3BO- My first attempt to run this contest from an island. Nice experience to be an attractive mult.
Modest setup; TS940SAT and low-hanging windom antenna.
Super location, 100mASL, no obstacles 360 deg.
LA4WKA- Worked less then 12 hrs. pileups, most appreciated.
LA6IHA- It was fun, see you next year...
LA7XK- I have operated from my vacation qth
on Spjaeroy island in the Hvaler Islands group.
The island is located on the eastern side of
the Oslo Fjord near the Swedish border.
The WW Locator is JO59LC.
LA8OM- Was searching for a suitable EU-055 QTH the last couple of days before the contest, but no success. Thus operating from from a small mountain lake peninsula instead :-)
IOTA comes out as a pleasant mid summer contest with subtle ambiance and decent space on the bands.
As usual the logging was flawless with EI5DIs SD.
LP2D- Amazing contest, first one for me!!! Many tnx!!!
LY5W- TNX FOR NICE EVENT. JUST COME BACK FROM LY-HAMEST. TNX FOR 12H CATEGORY.
LZ1PJ- Fun as always. This is one of my favourite contests. This years result is much better (+100k points) than last years, where quite unexpectedly I got 3rd place in my category. Again this year I missed 80m, because of lack of antenna for this band. Generally fair band conditions, but a thunderstorm caused me trouble for 2-3 hours. However, I was quite surprised to see in 2008 my result was much better without using DXcluster. Obviously assisted stations spoil quite much time hunting spots, at least I did. Maybe I should reconsider which way is better, or plan my participation more carefully.
Maybe organizers should consider making a IOTA Winter contest, to encourage more activity from the southern hemisphere.
Good luck, CU in IOTA2011.
73, Ivan LZ1PJ
M0MCV- Good to tackle IOTA with a new call. So much easier with 100w. Poor conditions made Sunday morning a struggle.
M0NQN- Despite time constraints, managed a fair spread of contacts. Thanks for the patience of the more DX!
M0OIC- Band conditions certainly had an effect on DX or lack
of it but stations appeared to be doing their best to
enjoy the contest, which is what it is all about. SD
was my logging programme of choice and it worked well.
I look forward to better conditions in year 2011.
M0PTS- First ever contest and first time using SD. Really enjoyed
the contest. SD was straight forward to use will definately
attempt another contest
M0SFR- FT817ND, Long Wire ant 8m, above ground level, 9:1 balun, Elecraft T1 tuner, 1 ground radial in the garden
SDI is great but does not work with FT817
Big thank-you to JW5E for answering my QRP call while running a pile-up in the last minutes of the contest
M0SIY- bands were busy good contest as usual
thanks to m0tef for radio loan ta al
2hrs before contest my laptop died thanx mark for loan
thanx to rachel my long suffering yl !!
M0TEF- Some great fun and an enjoyable contest, great fun to take part.
M1JJK- I enjoyed this contest, roll on the next one!!
M1KTA- Used a remote SDR RX at the house (50m from shack) and monitored the HF bands so selected assisted.
M2H- Interesting short amount of participation with other commitments to keep but enjoyed the contest.
Pity the band conditions I encountered were poor at times with fading.
Pleased to make a contact on 15 Metres, first for some time.
Long way to go to get my Morse reading speed up some of the participants, why dont they realise that a bit slower can be quicker to complete a contact accurately.
M2W- Great contest again
M3PSK- wasn't set up properly this year hence poor results
need to take more time with antenna next year
M3W- I operated for virtually the whole 24 hour period and enjoyed mixed conditions this year. On Saturday, 10m and 15m were very poor but 20m was good. On Sunday, 15m was better and I was also able to find a very few multipliers on 10m. Overall my multiplier count on 10m and 15m was
much lower than in 2009. It is hard to know whether to run or SP from England because the EU005 multiplier is very common and so when running you are not necessarily picked up by other island stations for the multiplier. So I adopted a policy of working 200 stations and then
going on an SP multiplier-only trawl through the open bands. I struggled to work as many multipliers as last year but made up for this by working more stations. I tried to combine SSB and CW but found that I could run more successfully on CW and so only worked SSB for
new multipliers. The station was on the edge of the
Saltfleetby-Theddlethorpe Dunes nature reserve and qualifies as GFF-149 for the WFF program.
M4W- Our first time using automatic antenna switching. Conditions on higher bands were terrible. Hopefully it wasnt just for us. Around half the QSOs of previous years.
M7A- Another brill contest! Glad it is becoming so popular.
Operated from seaside location, in the back of a van :). Modest score due to lack of antennas - 20m and 40m only.
M8C- Smaller-scale operation this year, 100w and dipoles. With very poor conditions on 15 and 10m, maybe this was not the year to downsize! We had fun as always and were very pleased to give out EU-011 to as many as possible, but why are the pileups *after* the contest so much bigger?
M9R- Spent first 5 hours of contest sorting out a bad
connection on the TH11!
M9X- James (M0YOM) on ssb and me on cw. A3S at 45 feet and huge loop at 65 feet. K3 + Acom 2000. Nice conditions into Pacific - VK/ZL as well as JA were 9+ at times. In fact, the beam was almost stationary at around 30 degress. Tried Skimmer with the Perseus SDR and found it a useful propagation tool and it helped with a few mults. I might try an assisted entry with it in CQWW this year. Some big scores from UK and very slick cw operators - unusual to hear Nick G3RWF without a warm foreign prefix! Thanks to everyone that called and to Don and folks for the adjudication work to follow.
Cheers,
Terry,
G4MKP
MD3YLX- THANK YOU TO EVERYONE FOR THEIR PATIENCE DURING VERY POOR BAND CONDITIONS, MUCH QRM AND QSB. HOPEFULLY MANY MORE CONTACTS NEXT TIME :O)
MM/ON6QR- DXPedition in Shetland-North Mavin EU-012. QTH was in longest fjord of Shetland,on the slope: not to good position ! 80m dead on Saturday, but nice on Sunday.
15m very low and nothing on 10m. Always fun on islands for the IOTA contest. See you next year.
MM0GPZ/P- Extremely late decision to travel to Bute meant late start and one antenna. 40m pretty active most of the time.
MM3T- Outboard took ages to start, got it going in the end. Landing on bute timed for high tide to miss the rocks and allow enough time to unload the gear. Ribbon feeder
on the 20M j-pole acted up when wet meaning I had to run over and shake the rain off it every so often. Visted by sheep and seal but otherwise alone under my carp umbrella for the whole contest. Worked west coast USA and a few JAs, 10 and 15m marginal so concentrated on 20/40m. Great contest, thanks to all who worked me.
MW1MDH- Managed more points on less Qs this year (guess I got more mults!)
MW9C- Early problems with linking win test and poor weather hampered putting up 4 square on 80m so only two antennas SteppIr and 40m 4 square.
MW9W- Another successful trip by Strumble Head DX Contest Group. Full write up and photos will be on the club website http://www.mc0shl.com. All logs have been uploaded to LOTW, M0URX log search and Club log. All online QSL requests will be dealt with upon Tims (M0URX) return home.
N0KE- My first time in this contest and it wont be the last! Good fun!
N0ODK- Had fun as always getting IOTAs.
N2GC- Limited time this year due to work and family activities. Could not pull out the many calling on 80 meters due to very high QRN from storms. Finally had to pull the plug when the lightning got too close. See you next year. Mike, N2GC
N2SO- Hello to all! This was my first IOTA contest. My station is on Staten Island which is a real island but does not qualify as an IOTA Island. Thanks to all.
N2WN- Conditions were tough, 20 was the best band, low bands were very noisy and 15 up was pretty darn dead. Activity seemed decent regardless...
N3AO- I operated from the front porch of the Fessenden Center on Hatteras/Pea Island, NC. This was the spot where Canadian-born Reginald Aubrey Fessenden did his experimentation and successful first transmission of musical notes ever relayed by radio waves, received 48 miles north, on the western side of Roanoke Island, North Carolina. It was quite a thrill to be so connected to the past history of radio. I could clearly see the top of Cape Hatteras Light (ARLHS USA-119). I used a 32-foot-long wire as my antenna, held up by a fiberglass extendable mast, on a drive-over wooden board. My rig was my Elecraft K2, running approximately 90-100 watts. I used two ferryboats to get to this location, after driving approximately 385 miles from my home in Blacksburg, Virginia. My thanks to all those who worked me, and who helped me on my very first IOTA activation.
N3RW- NOT MANY SOUTH AMERICANS HEARD/WORKED
PLEASED TO WORK EI5DI
N4A- Yet another fun IOTA experience! Heading into the event, the group was concerned about the excessive heat in NC. Well, we certainly dodged it at the Core Banks
(NA067). We had a nice ocean breeze of 15 to 20 MPH both days. We even shut the AC units off on Saturday afternoon and simply opened the doors and windows. It was perfect, but it wasn't too bad for comfort in July.
We set out with a goal of breaking the 1000 qso wall. In the past we got close, but this time we pushed through and finished with 1195 QSOs and a new high total
for mults with 201 and a final score of 1,412,226.
We had hoped to have five operators this time out, but team member W0UCE regretfully had to cancel at the last moment. He wished us well and offered some encouraging words and it must have stuck.
K2AV came along for the first time. He recommended using a pair of 56 inverted vees for the run station for use on 40, 20, 15 and 10. We fed them with open wire line and ran that to the shack. W4KAZ led the way to get a 40 foot mast up. Normally we stop at 30, but we got to 40 feet this time. The antennas looked great and worked really well at that height. The multiplier station antenna was an inverted vee for 80 meters used on all bands. It worked well
also. We had little difficulty breaking pileups.
N3ND commented that the biggest factors were improved propagation, antenna improvements as well as using a pair of K3s. I think he hit on the head. The improved propagation kept the mult station busy.
We had some spectacular runs on both CW and SSB. At times, the pile-ups were down right nasty! I think everyone got a decent thrill operating. K2AV did an awesome job on 40 CW, N3ND did a great job of running and picking out mults, while W4KAZ should get a medal for toughing it out during the middle of the night between 7-10Z! The q-rates were low, but KAZ picked up some sweet mults during that time.
In the end, we topped the 1K qso goal and topped 1 million points. This is by far our best score for the IOTA contest. We had a wonderful time.
On behalf of the N4A team,
73,
Nate/N4YDU
N4DTF- Very disappointed in this one - especially with SFI rising, I had hoped for much better DX contacts. Managed a few EUs, some caribbeans, and VK and ZL, only found good cdx on 20 and 40m. 15 was dead for me even late Saturday afternoon when I expected openings to the west. If others found different cdx, please let me know, as I may have a problem with my new antenna orientation. For me, IOTA was nowhere near as good, DX wise, as last years contest.
N4ZZ- Great turn out and wish had got started earlier.
N6DW- just got to play for an hour but a lot of fun
N7GR- Great Contest and thanks for the new ones.
N7GVV- First time entering contest. Enjoyed it.
N7VS- Thank you for another interesting contest. Hope to be back next year
N8AGU- Very nice contest. Nice to see so many IOTA expeditions.
N8BJQ- Lots of activity. Was surprised to hear 15M open early Saturday morning. First time with 2 radios with my new Dishtronix DX2400L solid state 1.5KW amp. With the SO2R option, switching between radios, bands or modes was fast. Nice to have full power immediately on every band or mode change with both radios. Lots of IOTA activity. Like the 12 hr option.
N9AG- Nice conditions to eastern Asia for a couple hours at the start. Worked some new islands, putting me to about 300 now.
N9NA- First IOTA contest for me. Lots of fun. Look forward to next one.
NU4B- Always a great contest. Rig: Heathkit HW-9, Ant: Carolina Windom Short 80 @ 40. I hope to have my HF5B up for next years contest. Thanks to everyone for the contacts.
OE2VEL- Some problems with KT34XA and a tired operator led to a result less than expected. Still enjoyed the nice 24h contest. Thanks to all island stations I could work. Cu again next year.
OE3K- thank you for nice contest.
OE6HLF- Conditions no good 15m, 10m, but nice Contest.
OG0M- We had a lot of fun working in this contest, despite lack of operators (our OH friends were busy), so the 2nd radio was almost not in use during the contest. Our field day set-up worked quite well: Titanex LP5 and a V-dipole for 40m. Hope to be QRV agn next year.
OH1F- Great propagation on 20m!
OH1RX- Just for fun QSOs during a club meeting weekend.
OH1TD- Nice contest again!
OH6NJ/1- Technical problems througout the contest with TRX and laptop. First hour only 17 QSOs and I had to make some big arrangements. My antenna tuner did not work at all so I had no possibility to make Qs on 80m. Because of RFI I had to use lower power (50W) for almost the whole contest (few good moments with 100W). I was forced to work only 12 hours, because the cottage rent expired
at 1100UTC on Sunday. Anyhow it was a nice contest with few
nice pileups.
OK1CZ- Late and slow start, as usual I had no time for preparation before the contest so I was solving RIG problems on Saturday evening. Finally I was keying by hand without the keyboard throughout the contest. Condx not too great.
OK1DOR- It was a very nice contest:I am looking forward to next IOTA 2011.
OK1TC- Poor condition this year.
OK2QX- Sorry, that on CW was not more stations on islands, I hrd on SSB many nice IOTA stations. Also condx on 21/28 was not so good - but for a short entertainment was this contest good. With my 74 years I am not in good condition for full 24 hrs participation.
OK2SGW- I like SDI log for this contest. I do not know better !
Thank You Paul. 73 + good luck
Zdenek / OK2SGW
OK2SWD- GOOD CONTEST WITH MANY IOTA STATIONS. SEE YOU AGAIN FRIENDS.
OK3M- Poor propagation this year.
OK5SWL- GOOD CONTEST. SEE YOU AGAIN FRIENDS.
OL4M- No good conds sri
OM4AA- Great fun with QRP in this contest. Thanks to all, 72/73!
OM6MT- Hello to all IOTA friends. I was very pleased to take part again. 73 from Vit, OM6MT, OK5MM
ON3ND- Very exciting contest as usual... Poor condx and a lack of free time this week-end...
ON3TO- Due of the family concerns I could not make the trip with the crew of PA/OQ4T to EU146. First Iota contest from home.
Enjoyed the contest. See you next year.
ON4LWX- very fine contest
ON5WL- Nice contest but I heard less IOTA stations then other
years. Good activity overall.
Till next year
73
Leon ON5WL
ON8NT- mobile whip on the balcony of the appartment
bad condx fun anyway
OR2A- Great contest !
OZ/DL6MHW- This year not a DXpedition but Fixed with the help of OZ4EDR radio club. TNX! Strong wind and rain gave me some DXpedition feeling setting up the vertival for 40m. I was completely wet. After 30 minutes in the contest I lost the Beam for 10-15-20 so the number of multipliers on the high bands is very low. 10 m never opens. 80m and 40m was great. One of the best contest in the last years for me!
OZ/DL8MF/P- My first IOTA-Contest. I worked with 10 W, dipol and lw from EU-172 island Samso. vy 73 Immo
OZ/OK1DRX- New experiences from dx expedition on the scandinavian island. All cca 450 contest QSO were on the 20m band with dipol on the tree, cca 4m high. It is my personal record in one contest. My wife has a nice bike trip around the island over the contest. Beautifull day!!!
OZ1DYI/P- Yaesu FT847
5 band Butternut
Working only with Solar Cells and Solar Batteries
I have no elecrity
OZ1IOA- More Time this year. Enjoyed be back again. Use SDI
Works Great. See you next year
PA/OQ4T- With our new homebrewed 2 element cubical quad it make a big difference, but 10 and 15 meter was not open on saturday.
Just on sunday we could make some eu qsos
Improved the score of last year.
See you next year

PA0GRU- It was a pleasure to work this IOTA contest. Till next year.
Dick PA0GRU
PA1B- Thank you for the Award of last year (2009) when I worked from Madeira (AF-014). This year I am at home. Working with the FT-817 and an Inverted Vee I had limited time, but still made 19 QSOs. Thank you for the contest
PA1BBO- Weve enjoyed the IOTA contest 2010!
PA2REH- Condx were not good this time, but still it was fun. Thanks all for qso. Used Elecraft K2/100 with dipole and vertical

PA3GEO- Nice to hear many stations on the islands.
Running 100W in a openline feed dipole (2x12m)
73 Robert
PA5GU- Bad condx on 10 and 15 meters made me stay on 20 meters
PE2KP- It was a nice contest, this year without a thunderstrom. For station info go to www.pe2kp.nl Have fun an see you all next year again. 73,
Adriaan PE2KP
PG1R- Very nice contest; good activity.
PG6EL- tnx for the nice weekend
PI4CG- TNX FOR NICE CONTEST
PI4N- Very nice contest.
Keep up the good work!!
PP5JY- First time, I didinīt have much time.
PQ7Q- The IOTA contest is a great event every year. This year could not be different, besides the bad weather condx and heavy winds that broke one of the traps of our multiband antenna, the friendship of all involved on the team, made a great differential on the overall result.
PT5T- Has been a great pleasure to receive some friends for the IOTA contest. Thanks for being on our log. PP5EG Oms
PT7ZZ- Was my first time in IOTA contest, great party, but i have only a 20m wire dipole antenna ... next time i hope to do a better score.
PY1CMT- my contacts will be used for the playoff champion, for the reason that few were privileged. The life of QRP operator is not easy - PY1CMT
PY2NY- Sorry, due of other social compromises, lost big part of this nice contest.
PY2XC- Propagation was terrible. Best luck next time.
PY4FQ- Thanks for this nice contest. The propagation was not good again. See you in the IOTA Contest 2011.
73, Mario - PY4FQ

S56A- I like your log cfm procedure! So gentlemanly British :-)
S57S- I just wish next time to full operate. Great submit page!
S79BWW- LOST BAGGAGE WITH ANTENNAS WORKING WITH A HOME-BREW 20MTS DIPOLE. BUT LOT OF FUN WITH THAT . I RECEIVE 1ST GOLF BAGGAGE IN SUNDAY MORNING (26TH JULY) DURING IOTA CONTEST!
SE5S- Fun activity! Next year, I hope to be active on EU-084...
SF5X/2- Due to baad weather emerging on Sunday morning I had to quit the operation about 3 hours early. The tent was broken but at the end I was safe back to the mainland with the help of my sons. Eqipment used was my lovely ATS3 by KD1JV. This small rig is very nice to operate on remote locations. Antennas were a GP with three paralell elements for 40,30 and 20 m with a nice ground pane of 48 10 m radials and for 80 m an inverted vee.
SM0/PA3DAT- My first IOTA-contest experience. It was fun, hope to be on an island again somewhere next year!
SM5BMB- I do not see the value of qsos between non-IOTA stations
It only cause extra QRM for weak IOTA-stations
SM5LSM- Tnx for a very nice test
SM5LSM Borje
SM7BHM/P- Very bad weather with heavy wind and rain
have to go QRT after 5 hours.
SN9R- Good contest !

CU next year 73
SV1BDO/3- Many thanks for the great time. 17 new ones for me, CU next year !!!
SV8/OK6DJ- Excellent race and a big pileup. Also, but sometimes interference from the hotel.
73 David ok6dj
SX8R- Nice contest! Good activity!
SZ6P- From 1st of July till 09 of August I was in my birth place, Preveza, for HCAA purposes assisting, due to high summer season, the LGPZ personel in com-ops. So I was on the air as SZ6P (which is the call sign of the local amateur radio club (RACP). I run the contest from my 2nd QTH at KM09IB 20 kms WNW from the town of Preveza. My property is very close to the coast of Ionian sea (300 mtrs).
I realy enjoy my participation contra to my age (59) and my works obligations. I hope to CU next year, perhaps from a Greek IOTA, ...
aFTER GODS WILL... Best 73 Vasilis/SV1BJW op. of SZ6P
TA1HZ- Many things to do on this weekend but could manage a few hours of on the air time for the contest. Nice to hear a few new ones.
TK/DL2RMC- RIG IC706 (100W) and a multibanddipole about 12m high
about 1000m far from the beach near Piana. Activity from a campingcar. The 1st plan was to work from EU-104 during the contest. But it was not possible. It was to windy during the contest weekend.
TM7C- This year the propagation was very unstable and high bands were most of the time dead. 20 and 40m were the only two bands available for the first day. We also had some trouble with the antennas. Score is much weaker than usual but for sure well be again in the contest next year.
TM7T- Great contest with a lot of multipliers more than last year !
UA3BL- I ran the test at the air temperature 40 degrees in my shack and very thick smog out. It seemed I was encircled in fire. The smoke greatly influences people in Moscow region these days (particularly contestmen). Nevertheless I managed my 12-hour IOTA test and my equipment worked fine. Best regards to all participants especially Island stations,73!
UA3LHL- MNY TNX for the Contest! CU next Year. 73s
UA6EED/3- Thanks for the FB contest!
UR4LZA/P- TNX FOR CONTEST!
UR7EZ- Nice Contest as usual, have had a lot of fun, even with tight preparations!
UR8GX- Tnx for nice contest
US1IV- TNX for nice contest !
US4IXT- TNX FOR NICE CONTEST!
UT4EK- TNX GOOD CONTEST!
UU2JQ- Very poor propagation. :(
UU7JM- TNX NEW IOTAs!
UW7LL- Thanks all for QSOs!!!
UX3IO- TNX GOOD CONTEST!
VA2UTC- First time operating this contest it was a great experience for me to work it and I am glad that I took a dive into it. I will be back next year for another run at it.
VA3RKM- K2, 5 watts, verticals. Great fun for QRP this year.
VA7CPC- I live in Richmond, BC. At the time of the contest, I was on my sailboat, cruising the Gulf Islands. I operated from the Ganges Marina, on Saltspring Island. Working CW through the marina noise was quite a challenge.
My radio was an IC-706 (the boats radio), the antenna was my backstay (the boats antenna). So -- although I didnt plan it -- I qualify as a DXpedition!
VA7DZ- It would help everyone if us Islanders could advertise that we are rare and worth multipliers plus 15 points. Maybe send CQ ISLE instead of CQ TEST if we are on an island??
VC9A- This was our 4th trip to the White Head Is. (pop.160) elementary school for the IOTA contest. Previously on White Head we were XJ9GM, (1997); VE9W (2002); VC9W (2005); and this time we were VC9A. The bushes had grown, making setup of our two light towers with TA-33 tribanders challenging, but fortunately the bushes were covered with ripe blueberries, and the view across the water was wonderful. Propagation was very poor on 15m, and non-existent on 10m, but 20m pileups were huge, islands were numerous, and propagation held until well past local midnight, with exciting bits of skip from the far east. Gray-line propagation on 40m brought in some ZL and VK contacts. Most of the equipment worked just as it should, and the eight members of our team worked together very well to achieve our best score ever!
VE1AL- Four hours late getting started, conditions weren't optimal by any stretch (didn't hear a peep on 10 or 15) but despite all I had fun. Called lots of guys who thought I was just another VE1 so I hope they worked someone else on NA010 because they ignored me. I did try running a few times but the results were disappointing.
VE1RGB- I am a field tester for the Elecraft P3 panadapter and I used it with my K3 for the first time in this contest. My score was double my previous personal best. With 15M being spotty and vy QSB here, I would say that at least half my 53 QSOs and 15 mults on 15M can directly from visually catching them using the P3 waterfall. Since it is virtualy impossible to run from here in a DX contest like IOTA, and with single element antennas being all I have, my only real option is SP. Anyone in my position just MUST have a panadater if they want to squeeze the best out of their station. And no, I am not on staff at Elecraft. Just a simple operator blown away by new technology.
VE1TRI- We operated a small unassisted multi operator station from Long Island Nova Scotia (NA -127) in the Bay of Fundy on the most westerly tip of NS. We used a 40 m vertical, 20 m half square, 80 and 15 meter dipole and windom.
VE3FRX- First time entry as only had about 4 hours to play, but lots of fun. Good test of my new 5 band hexbeam antenna at 15m, except I missed the 15 and 10m band openings to EU, if there were any. Only 1 15m QSO.
VE3MCF- Operated from my home instead of my cottage which is my usual custom. A lot of noise on the bands. Could only work first four hours.
VE3VHB- Used SDI (old version) in POST mode. Worked great as
usual. Glad to get JA3AOP in AS-117 when he finally
turned beam to NA. Far East was hard to get. Saw many
spotted on cluster but nil here.
VE3WDM- Only able to spend a short time in the contest but as every year I had a great time and it was very well attended.
VE5FN- Part time effort but fun in the time I had.
VE7XF- Tough sledding!
VK2AYD- Insert a rule that DX-pedition stations must identify themselves every 3 minutes when in 'RUN' mode or have 10 pc of their score deducted. They become time waster if you are in "S & P' mode.
VK3TDX- Only limited time but fun to give OC001 to many happy people!
More time for sure next year.
VK4AN- Conditions were extremely variable! Laptop crashed in the middle of a pileup! Sorry guys! Tossed a coin to see if me or our son got to operate the contest...I won this year!
VK4HAM- Great Contest as usual - just wish island stations didnt have to give serial numbers - serial numbers should be given by non island stations only
VK4LDX- Last minute commitments with my new job shortened my
operating time. Biggest problem was poor location with
steep hills blocking JA and US and longpath Europe!!
On Sunday of contest I found a much better spot to
operate for the 2011 event though
VK7GN- Few hours on but fun as usual
VK7XX- filling out this web page form is a pain in the arse! I already submitted my log in cabrillo format and anything further should be unnecessary.
VU2BGS- had a lot of power cuts but great to be in the contest
VU2BL- Greetings to all there. It is a nice experience to work
for the IOTA Contest. I am not so experienced to work
for the contests. Still I wanted to participate.yes
VU2JOS- Nice to participate in IOTA contest again
VU2PTT- Could not continue due to urgent work that came up. Next time may be better :)
VU2RMS- Enjoyed the contest. Congratulations to the organizers of this contest.
VY2X- 3 stacked yagis for 20 and 1 full-size yagi for 40
Fantastic contest as always. Great fun!
W1END- Good activity this year.
W1WBB- Only able to put in closer to 10 hrs op time. Missed some prime daytime operating due to family time, then had multiple shutdowns due to severe thunderstorms and a software problem. EU pileups were huge and difficult to manage at times due to apparent cluster spotting of my somewhat rare (during this contest)IOTA...Good condx on bands but terrible storm QRN here, even on 20m at times, made copy difficult and challenging. Happy to snag 22 new mults in my last 2h 45m of operating bouncing between 20, 40 and 80m in SP mode. Very enjoyable event as an IOTA stn even if it is an EU-centric contest...many thanks to sponsor RSGB and all who called in. It was fun being the hunted!
73, Bill W1WBB Aquidneck Island (NA-031)
W5GAI- Fun contest. Somewhat irritating that most new EU IOTAs that I needed did not operate on bands and times when we had propagation. I tracked them down eventually but it was tough to get through the EU wall.
W6QU- My first time in this contest. Nice to see so many VK stations on the air from my west coast QTH! But I was able to work only one European station with my 5 watts. Im looking forward to next years contest!
W7WHY- Conditions were really bad here in the PNW. Thanks for digging my signal out of the noise. 73
Tom W7WHY
WP3GW- AS ALWAYS 20 METER YIELDED THE MOST CONTACTS, GOT TO THE 100 MARK!
WQ2N/P- EU was coming in all day, and even managed to work a few JA. Great condx for this contest with puny station here!
YE0A- Had a lot Fun, but not many QSOs in day one, Hopefully 48 hours qsos for multi oprs...73 de YE0A Team
YL7X- This year YL7X contest team supported a young latvian contesters from school club station YL1XN
YO2IS- Strange propagation, not to many participants, missed by one the 100 mark on multipliers...Pleased to work some new islands. 73 Szigy.
YO4US- Bad propagation for my poor working conditions. See you next year!
YO5OHY- Many dx call tnx to all 73 gl
YO7LCB- The contest starts well and I was thinking that I will made a big score this year.Unfortunely at 10 PM a big storm starts with big rain and big winds 118 Km/ hour and the power line was cut.The voltage came back after 13 hours (next day). So, I lost most of the time for contesting. Maybe next year will be better. 73 Chris YO7LCB
YO9AGI- GOOD CONTEST! 73 AND GOOD LUCK FROM ROMANIA! op. Mircea
YO9CWY- A lot of island stations, nice contest.
YT2A- Great contest as always!!! 73 de YT2A
YU1PJ- NICE CONTEST...
YU1WC- Just a short operation, playing with my Genesis G40 monoband SDR toy. Had a storm during the night and problems with my antenna tuner, so I could not operate as much as I intended. See you next year on all bands!
ZF2JT- First time in IOTA Contest from an island - great fun!
ZM4G- Hard going this year with poor conditions. Perhaps that explains why the dreaded Over The Horizon Radar was not end-stop on 40m for a change. Equipment here: K3 + 500W amp + tribander and 40m vertical. Found time to build an automatic antenna switch during the contest - seemed a more productive use of my time.
ZP9EH- Not much propagation but I did work two new ones from here. Thanks for the contest!
ZY2C- Tnx all for another good test.
